Small Grazing-run in the County of Waimea, Nelson, open for Lease on Application.

Nelson, 1st September, 1898.
NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned small grazing-run will be open for lease on application, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on and after Wednesday, the 2nd November, 1898, at the annual rental noted below. In the case of more than one application for the run on the same day, priority of selection will be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m.
Waimea County, Whangamoa Survey District, Section 3, Block IV.: 1,038 acres; annual rental, £10; second-class land.
Situated on the shores of Tasman Bay, near Croixelles Harbour, from which it can be reached by a good track. There is some fairly good land at Omokau Bay, which is a good landing-place, and from which produce could be shipped; but the remainder is fern, tussock, and scrub hills, with a little birch bush. Highest altitude, 1,000 ft.

THE under-mentioned sections in the Village of Huiakama will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash, at Stratford, on Friday, the 28th October, 1898, at 11 a.m.

The Huiakama Village is situate on the Ohura Road, a short distance from the Township of Strathmore, and about twenty-one miles and a half from Stratford Railway-station. Sections 32, 33, 34, and 35 are all in bush, the remainder are felled and grassed land, the small sections having a fall towards Mangaotuku Stream. The general character of the soil is good. It is proposed to erect a creamery on Section 32, which will be protected by valuation for improvements.

All forest; very broken country; papa formation; well watered; timber chiefly tawa. The altitude varies from 600 ft. to 1,400 ft. above sea-level, some of the ridges rising to 800 ft. above the valleys. The distance from Stratford Railway-station is from forty-seven to fifty-six miles, by Ohura and branch roads, the former being passable for dray traffic. The sections lie from one to four miles from Ohura Road.
