Trustees for Blackball Public Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Names of Trustees. Name of Public Cemetery, and Description of Land.
James Howard, John Leitch, sen., and Henry Harrison. BLACKBALL. All that parcel of land in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 24 perches, more or less, being Section No. 6, Block II., Mawheranui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by road to Blackball Township, 929 links; towards the east by old track to Blackball, 772 links; and towards the south by a public road, 702 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Nelson.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Manawatu County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.

THE following is the result of a poll of ratepayers taken on the 5th October, 1898, on a proposal to raise a loan of £250, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for metalling the unmetalled portion of Jones’s Line:—

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 8, exercising 20 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 7, exercising 18 votes; number of votes against the proposal, nil.

The number of voters and votes in favour of the proposal being more than half of the total number exercisable, I hereby declare such proposal to be carried.
