Appointing Trustees for the Owaka Public Cemetery.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JOHN CRAIG,
ROBERT McLEAN, and
GLASGOW LOGAN

to be Trustees, in the place of John Dickson, John Reay, and John D. Moore, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Owaka Public Cemetery, formerly known as the Catlin’s River Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by His Excellency the Governor on the nineteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Appointing Trustees for the Kanieri Public Hall and Library.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the twentieth section of “The Reserves and Crown Lands Disposal and Enabling Act, 1896,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby vest Reserve No. 101, situate in the Town of Kanieri, and containing 1 acre, more or less, in the following persons, whom I hereby appoint in that behalf, that is to say,—

ALEXANDER HUTCHINSON, of Kanieri, Blacksmith,
RICHARD BECK, of Kanieri, Butcher,
THOMAS BURNS, of Kanieri, Blacksmith,
ALFRED DALE, of Kanieri, Carter, and
WILLIAM BURROWS, of Kanieri, Miner,—

to hold the said reserve in fee-simple in trust for the purpose of a public hall, public library, reading-room, and school of mines, upon the following condition: The trustees shall continue and remain in possession of the trust for the period of five years from the day of the date hereof. In the event, however, of any vacancy occurring through the death, resignation, or otherwise of a trustee prior to the expiration of the said period of five years, it may be forthwith filled by the Governor appointing a new trustee for the unexpired term.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Officer under “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,” Wellington District, appointed.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 9 of “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,”

JAMES MACDONALD, of Paraparaumu,

has been appointed an Officer for the purposes of that Act for the Counties of Hutt, Horowhenua, Wairarapa North, Wairarapa South, Pahiatua, Oroua, Manawatu, Kiwitea, Pohangina, and Rangitikei, and for all the town districts and boroughs situated within the said counties.
