Rural Lands in the Otago Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Section 20: Mixed-bush land on a sandstone formation; broken; well watered and sheltered; situated one mile and a half from a school. Section 21: Similar to Section 20; situated two miles from a school. Section 23: Similar to Section 20; situated two miles and a half from a school. Section 24: Mixed-bush land on a sandstone formation; broken; soil good; well watered; situated thirteen miles and a quarter from Owaka Railway-station, and a quarter of a mile from a school. Section 26: Good mixed-bush section; 30 acres flat; well watered; situated one mile from McLennan River Bridge, and three-quarters of a mile from a school. Section 27: Similar to Section 26; situated two miles and a half from McLennan River Bridge, and two miles from a school. Section 28: Similar to Section 26; situated three-quarters of a mile from McLennan River Bridge, and half a mile from a school. Section 29: Mixed-bush land; very broken; soil fair; well watered; situated thirteen miles from Owaka Railway-station. Section 31: Mixed-bush land; broken; soil fair to good; watered; situated thirteen miles and a half from Owaka Railway-station. Section 32: Mixed-bush land; 40 acres flat, remainder broken; soil fair to good; well watered; situated two miles from a school. Section 33: Mixed-bush land; 30 acres flat, remainder broken; soil fair; watered; situated two miles from a school. Section 34: Mixed-bush land; broken; soil fair; watered; situated two miles and a half from a school.
