Lands in Taranaki forfeited or surrendered.

Wellington, 15th September, 1898.
IT is hereby notified that, the leases and licenses of the under-mentioned Crown lands having been voluntarily surrendered by the lessees and licensees, or forfeited by resolution of the Taranaki Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

If more than one application is received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m.

These sections adjoin Waikawa Township, but the road to them is not formed. Sections 46, 47, and 56 are mossy and rough; Sections 50, 52, 53, 54, and 55 are steep, but the soil is good. Section 50 is burdened with £5 14s. valuation for clearing, grassing, and fencing. All the sections are sparsely covered with mixed bush of no commercial value.
