Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-third day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WHAKATANE COUNTY.
Unsurveyed Second-class Land.
All that area in the Auckland Land District situate in the Parish of Matata, and containing approximately 1,200 acres. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 4 of the Parish of Matata; towards the east by a public road running along the west bank of the Tarawera River; towards the south by Section No. 21 of the Parish of Matata; and towards the west generally by Block I., Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, and Block II., Awa-o-te-Atua Survey District, and by Sections Nos. 137, 136, 135, 129, 104, and 103 of the Parish of Matata aforesaid, to the point of commencement.
Description of land: Open and swamp land, fronting Tarawera River, from one to three miles from Matata Township.
Cash price, 7s. 6d. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 4·5d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 3·6d. per acre per annum.

Notifying Lands in Wellington for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the seventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction at Wellington; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Wellington.

RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly set apart as a reserve for traveling stock, being a reserve in Class I. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be appropriated for the purposes of a public recreation-ground, being a reserve in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the thirtieth day of September instant, be appropriated for the purposes of a public recreation-ground, under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 40 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 41A, Block XI., Apiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 41B; towards the north-east by a public road; towards the south by Section No. 15; and towards the north-west by a public road.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
