Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the nineteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Half open and half mixed-forest land, well watered, on Wairoa River, about five miles from Tangiteroria Post-office.
About two-thirds forest, balance open fern land; about seven miles from Mangapai.
M. part 16, soil medium, small patch of bush, balance open; N.W. 52, broken forest land, medium soil; E. part 53, about 3 acres open, balance broken forest land. Sections situated about six miles from Waikiekie Post-office.
Open inferior land, and part swampy; situated on main coach-road, Hukerenui South.
Inferior land, with some small patches of bush; situated on Waiotoi Creek, Ngunguru Harbour.
Section 2, two-thirds forest, containing some puriri; medium land. Section 3, mostly open land; contains some swamp and few patches of bush; fronts Horahora River.
All open land; about eight miles from Drury and eight miles from Waiuku.
Open inferior land, one mile from Waipipi Wharf.
About 2 acres scrubby bush, inferior soil; 12 acres high tea-tree, and 3 acres partly cleared; well watered, and situated about four miles from Waikomiti Railway-station.
