Altering Regulations for the Examination of Surveyors under “The Land Act, 1892.”

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the fourth section of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby make the following additions to and alterations in the regulations under the said Act dated the sixth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, for the examination of, and for the issue of certificates to, surveyors, and do hereby declare that the said regulations shall henceforth be read and construed subject to the following alterations, viz.:—

After Regulation 9, (1), (c), add,—

(d.) That he has passed the Senior Civil Service Examination, and has served four years as a cadet in the Public Works Department of New Zealand, three of which must have been in the field, including a service of three months, also in the field, with a Government surveyor actually engaged in the survey of lands for settlement purposes.

After Regulation 13, subsection (9), add,—

(10.) Surveys of mining areas as defined in the regulations of 24th September, 1896.

(11.) Underground surveys connected with mining.

Appointing a Trustee for Hakateramea Cemetery.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

THOMAS WILSON

to be a Trustee, in the place of John Molloy, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Hakateramea Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by warrants under the hand of His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of his Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Appointing Trustees for the Wainui (Canterbury) Public Cemetery.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JAMES REID, Jun., and
MARK WRIGHT

to be Trustees in the place of James Reid and Arthur Charles Knight, resigned, and

ASHTON WACHSMANN

as an additional Trustee, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Wainui (Canterbury) Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the nineteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Trustees for the Kyle Public Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the local authority specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule, and do revoke all warrants previously appointing Trustees for the said cemetery.


SCHEDULE.

Name of Local Authority. Name of Public Cemetery, and Description of Land.
The South Rakaia Road Board. Kyle.
All that piece of land, situated in the District of Ashburton, containing 3 acres and 14 perches, be the same a little more or less, with the appurtenances (part of Rural Section 18334), and being part of the land included in Crown grant, Vol. xxxi., folio 115.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

Trustee for the Eltham Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JAMES BODDIE

to be a Trustee, in the place of Frederic Cowern, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Eltham Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the seventeenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

HUGH MUIRHEAD,
GEORGE EDWARD GOLDSMITH, and
WILLIAM TAYLOR CHAPMAN

to be Trustees, in the place of Henry Knight, Lars Binber, and Edward Binion Cooper, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Alford Forest Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the sixteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
