Officiating Ministers for 1898.—Notice No. 21.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand passed in the forty-fourth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and intituled “The Marriage Act, 1880,” the following names of Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—
Church of the Province of New Zealand, commonly called the Church of England.
The Reverend Daniel Cross Bates.
Baptists.
The Reverend Samuel Archer Harris.
Hebrew Congregations.
The Reverend Adolf Treitel Chodowski.
Church of Christ.

Pelorus Sound Mail Steam-services.
General Post Office,
Wellington, 27th June, 1898.
TENDERS will be received at the General Post Office, Wellington, until noon of Wednesday, the 6th July proximo, for the performance of the following services:—
- Once every two weeks, from the 13th July proximo to the 31st December, 1899, by steamer from Wellington to Havelock and back to Wellington, calling at Hikoekoea, Te Puru, Ketu Bay, Elaine Bay, Brightlands, Waimaru, Hopai Bay, Marie’s Bay, Tira-ora, Homewood, Nydia Bay, Maori Bay, Mahau Sound,* and Havelock, and at such other places in Pelorus Sound as may be determined upon by the Postmaster-General.
Tenderers are also invited to state for what subsidy they would be prepared, if required, to perform a weekly service from and to the above-named places.
- Once every two weeks, from about the 20th July proximo to the 31st December, 1899, by steamer from and to Havelock, calling at Mahau Sound, Maori Bay, Tira-ora, Homewood, Brightlands, Ketu Bay, and Te Puru, and at such other places in Pelorus Sound as may be determined upon by the Postmaster-General.
The names, tonnage, passenger-accommodation, and horse-power of the steamers proposed to be employed to be stated.
Forms of tender and conditions of contract may be obtained at the General Post Office, Wellington, the Chief Post-offices, Nelson and Blenheim, and the Post-offices, Picton and Havelock.
Tenders, indorsed “Tenders for Pelorus Sound Mail-service No. ,” to be addressed to the Secretary, General Post Office, Wellington.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Bonus for the Production of Quicksilver.
Mines Office,
Wellington, 17th February, 1898.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of fourpence (4d.) per pound will be paid on the production of the first one hundred thousand pounds weight (100,000lb.) of good marketable retorted quicksilver, free from all impurities, from any mine in New Zealand, on the following conditions, that is to say:—

That at least one-third of the quantity is produced on or before the 31st March, 1900, and the remaining two-thirds on or before the 31st March, 1901.

No bonus will be payable until the whole of the one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced as stipulated to the satisfaction of an officer to be appointed by the Minister of Mines, and on whose certificate alone the bonus will be paid.

In the event of more than one person producing the required quantities of quicksilver before the dates named, inquiry will be made by the officer above referred to, when, if it is found that each applicant is equally entitled to a bonus, the amount will be divided in proportion to the quantities produced by each applicant; but in no case shall any bonus be paid until at least one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced in the aggregate.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned forfeited section on the Blind River Estate will be open for application for lease in perpetuity at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Wednesday, the 24th day of August, 1898.
Section 9, Block XII., Clifford Bay: Area, 148 acres; half-yearly rent, £13 11s. 4d.; weighted with £10 8s., value of improvements.
One half-year’s rent and £1 1s. lease-fee must be deposited with each application.

THE under-mentioned lands will be open for selection at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Wednesday, the 24th August, 1898.
If more than one application be received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m., at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier.
