Notifying Lands in Auckland for Sale by Public Auction.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction at Auckland; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Hobson County.—Parish of Tatarariki.
SECTION 97A: 250 acres; total upset price, £125.
About three miles from Scarrott’s Post-office, and comprises swamp and open land.
Hobson County.—Parish of Okahu.
Section S.E. 193: 68 acres; total upset price, £214.
About twelve miles from Totatoka, and contains seventy-five green kauri-trees, or about 360,000 superficial feet. A tramway passes within 4 chains of the land.
Whangarei County.—Parish of Maungatapere.
Section 134A: 2 acres 2 roods 33 perches; upset price, £3.
Open land at Otaika.
Village of Waiuku.
Lot 30A: 39 perches; upset, £1 5s.
Lot 42: 2 roods 33 perches; upset, £3 10s.
Both lots are situated within half a mile of Waiuku Wharf.
Village of Upper Tuakau.

Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the thirty-first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight; and that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the date hereof hares shall cease to be within the operation of the said Acts within the undermentioned portion of the Otekaike Riding of the County of Waitaki, that is to say:—
All that area in the Otago Land District bounded towards the north-east by the Waitaki River; towards the south-east by the Otiake River; towards the south-west by the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 1, Block I., Domett Survey District, and the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 28, 25, 24, 23, and 22, Block VIII., Kurow Survey District; and towards the north-west by the Kurow River.
