bond fide student or scholar in attendance at
Technical [Music] School [Class]*

ticket, available for use on § , be issued

[Music] School [Class] ; and I undertake to keep
a roll of the attendance at the school [class],
such roll to be open for inspection by any officer
of the Railway Department. The attendance of
A.B. at the school [class] will be certified by
Mr. , whose signature appears in the
margin hereof.

*Insert “duly registered with Minister of Education.” †Insert
class of ticket. ‡Insert “technical schools season” or
“technical schools twenty-trip.” §Insert day of week on
which tuition will be received. ||Insert “him” or “her.”

These tickets will be issued conditionally on a roll of
attendance being kept at each technical or music school or
class, such roll to be open for inspection by any officer of the
Railway Department deputed for that purpose.

PART II.—LUGGAGE, PARCELS, HORSES, ETC.

BICYCLES, TRICYCLES, VELOCIPEDES, AND PERAMBULATORS.

Bicycles, tricycles, or velocipedes accompanying passen-
gers must be fully and legibly addressed with the name and
destination of passenger, and be at the railway-station at
least fifteen minutes before the advertised time of departure
of the train by which they are to be carried.

The department will not be responsible for bicycles, tri-
cycles, velocipedes, or perambulators improperly left about
the station premises.

PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.

GREYMOUTH—HOKITIKA SECTION.

Except where otherwise specified, goods of Class F con-
signcd direct from ship at Greymouth to stations on the
Hokitika line, or from stations on the Hokitika line to Grey-
mouth for shipment, will be charged 8s. 6d. per ton, weight
or measurement, at the option of the department, including
wharfage and all charges.

Chaff consigned direct from ship at Greymouth to Kumara,
or from Kumara to Greymouth for shipment, will be charged
7s. per ton, including wharfage and all charges at Grey-
mouth. Minimum quantity, 2 tons, calculated at twenty-
five bags to the ton.

HOKITIKA—BRUNNERTON SECTION.

Wood Ashes.

Wood ashes for manufacture of caustic potash consigned
to Kaiata will be charged Class Q. Minimum quantity,
4 tons per four-wheel truck, otherwise Class P rates. The
minimum quantity to be charged Class P will be 1½ tons;
any less quantity will be charged Class E (actual weight),
single rate.

PART V.—CLASSIFICATION OF GOODS, PARCELS,
LIVE-STOCK, AND LUGGAGE.

Alteration and Addition to the Special Scale of Fares,
Rates, and Charges in Force for Traffic interchanged
between Stations on the Greymouth Section of the New
Zealand Government Railways and Stations on the New
Zealand Midland Railway Company’s Railway, and for
Local Traffic on the New Zealand Midland Railway
Company’s Railway.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me
under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and any amend-
ment thereof, and also of “The Government Railways Act,
1894,” I, Alfred Jerome Cadman, the Minister for Railways,
do hereby make the following alteration in and addition to
the special scale of fares, rates, and charges for traffic inter-
changed between stations on the Greymouth Section of the
New Zealand Government Railways and stations on the New
Zealand Midland Railway Company’s railway, and for local
traffic on the New Zealand Midland Railway Company’s
railway ; to come into force on and after the 9th day of May,
1898:—

(11.) CLASS Q.—ROAD MATERIALS, ETC.

Wood Ashes.

Wood ashes for manufacture of caustic potash consigned
to Kaiata will be charged at the rates for Class Q for con-
veyance over the Midland Railway Company’s line to Brun-
ner. Minimum quantity to be charged at Q rates, 4 tons
per four-wheel truck, otherwise Class P rates. The mini-
mum quantity to be charged at P rates to be 1½ tons;
any less quantity will be charged at the rates for Class E
(actual weight), single rate. Such rates will be in addition
to the charges for conveyance upon the Government railway
from Brunnerton to Kaiata.

one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and in the
matter of the affidavit and application of two directors of
the Napier Sterilised Milk, Chilled Butter, and Ice
Company (Limited).

I HEREBY notify that, no objection to such application
having been made and lodged with me as by the said
Act required, I do now declare such company to be dis-
solved.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands
Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing
1 acre, more or less, being Allotment 231, Section 2, Town
of Opotiki, in the Provincial District of Auckland. The
last registered owner is Michael Nolan, described as of
Opotiki, Military Settler, and the land is now in the occu-
pation of Thomas Green, of Opotiki.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries,
and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or
owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes
that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony :

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within
six months of the date of publication of this notice in this
Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee
his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and if
such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so
establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise
the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The
Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

eastern half of the eastern moiety of Section No. 10, Block
No. 17, Borough of Patea, containing 10 perches, more or
less. Bounded on the east by Section 11, 200 links; on the
south by Bedford Street, 31 links; on the west by other
part of said Section 10 hereunder described, 200 links;
and on the north by Section 5, 31 links: be the said
measurements a little more or less: the owner being,
according to the Deeds Registry, one Henry Davy, who,
in 1871, mortgaged to “Lewis Brothers,” none of whom
can be traced. And also: To the owner or owners of a
parcel of land, being the western half of the eastern moiety
of the said Section 10, Block 17, Borough of Patea, con-
taining 10 perches, more or less. Bounded on the east by
other part of said Section 10 above described, 200 links;
on the south by Bedford Street, 31 links; on the west by
other part of said Section 10, 200 links; and on the north
by Section 5, 31 links: be the said measurements a little
more or less: the owner being, according to the Deeds
Registry, one Samuel Taplin, who cannot be traced. It
may be affected by the above-mentioned mortgage.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries,
and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or
owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes
that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony :

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within
six months of the date of the publication of this notice in
this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public
Trustee his or their title to either parcel or both parcels of
