CLIFTON COUNTY.—OKOKE ROAD LOAN.

RESULT of poll taken on the 21st day of February, 1898, upon the proposal to borrow £1,000, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to form and fence a deviation of the Okoke Road through Sections 9 and 10, Block VIII., Waitara Survey District, form a road through the unsurveyed lands of Block V., Waitara Survey District, to bridge the Urenui River, and form a portion of the Okoke Road :

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 13, exercising 13 votes: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 8, exercising 8 votes; number of ratepayers who did not vote, 5, exercising 5 votes.

I therefore declare the above proposal to be carried.

CLIFTON COUNTY.—ONAEBO ROAD LOAN.

RESULT of poll taken on the 22nd day of February, 1898, upon the proposal to borrow £200, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” to purchase land for road purposes, forming and fencing the same through Section 2, Block VII., Waitara Survey District :

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 5; number of votes exercisable, 7: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 4, exercising 6 votes; number of ratepayers who did not vote, 1, exercising 1 vote.

I therefore declare the above proposal to be carried.

WAIAPU COUNTY COUNCIL.—SPECIAL ORDER.

RESOLVED, That the boundaries of the Tokomaru and Waipiro Ridings be altered, and that, on and after the date of the publication in the New Zealand Gazette of this resolution, the boundaries of the aforesaid Tokomaru and Waipiro Ridings shall be those set forth under their respective headings in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Tokomaru Riding.

Bounded towards the east by the sea from the southern boundary of the Waipiro Block to the southern boundary of the Anaura Block: thence towards the south generally by the southern boundary of the last-named block to the Hikuwai Stream; thence by that stream and the southern boundaries of the Tauwhareparae Nos. 1 and 3 Blocks to the south-westernmost corner of the last-mentioned block; thence by the western boundary-line of Tauwhareparae No. 3 Block, 12800 links; thence by a line bearing due west, 12000 links, to Trig. Station No. 171; thence by a line bearing south 82° west, 12400 links, to Pakaurangi; thence by lines bearing south 6° 45′ east, 8700 links, and south 30° 30′ west, 5200 links, to Rimututahi; thence by lines bearing north 46° west 1400 links, north 32° west 1100 links, north 65° 30′ west 2800 links, north 10° 19′ west 5669 links, north 14° 39′ west 1098 links, north 15° 30′ west 10800 links, north 74° 30′ east 4500 links, north 9° 30′ east 6600 links, north 87° west 7500 links, north 45° west 1600 links, north 61° 30′ west 11800 links, south 87° west 2550 links, south 78° west 4500 links, north 20° 29′ east 17000 links, to the southern boundary-line of Tauwhareparae No. 2 Block; thence by that boundary-line to the Mangamaunu River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Mata River; thence by the right bank of the Mata River to the eastern boundary-line of Huiarua No. 1 Block; thence by the eastern and south-western boundary-lines of Huiarua No. 1 Block and a portion of the western boundary-line of Huiarua Block to its intersection with the Whakatane County boundary near Arowhana Trig.
