A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and seventy-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and seventy-two to one hundred and eighty-six of Part V. of “The Land Act, 1892,” relating to small grazing-runs.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
Ashley County.—Part of Patoa Settlement.
Sections 36569 and 36573, Blocks IV. and V., Waitohi Survey District; Sections 36576 and 36577, Block III., Waipara Survey District: 977 acres 3 roods.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway to take further land in the Borough of Sydenham, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

In the Land District of Canterbury; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 18132, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of March, 1898.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities vested in him by “The Government Valuation of Land Act, 1896,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint that the various places named in the second column of the Schedule hereto shall be the places where the Assessment Courts for the special districts named in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall sit, and that the persons named in the third column of the Schedule hereto shall be the Judges of such Assessment Courts.
