NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.

Otago Mining District,
16th February, 1898.

To the Warden at Livingstone.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a water-race to divert and use water for coal-mining purposes, commencing at a point twelve miles up the Big Awakino Creek from the district-road-crossing at the Kurow Coal-mine, and terminating at the Kurow Coal-mine, where the water is again returned to its natural channel.

The length of such race is twelve chains or thereabouts, and its intended course is through a portion of Section 5, Block IV., Kurow Survey District, in a northerly direction.

The mean depth of such race is 1ft. 6 in., and the mean breadth is 2 ft.; and it is proposed to divert three Government heads of water.

License required: Ten years.

Cost of construction: £15.

Time required for construction: One month.

Number and date of miner’s right: No. 29998; 19/2/98.
