Land declared to be Crown Land subject to “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, on the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be and be deemed to be Crown land subject to the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Act, 1894.”

SCHEDULE.

PAWAHO SETTLEMENT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 52 acres and 18 perches, more or less, being parts of Rural Sections Nos. 104 and 19, situated in Block XVI., Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road-line; towards the north-east by the Christchurch and Lyttelton Railway-line; towards the south generally by Hill’s Road, by the Lyttelton Borough Waterworks Reserve and Rural Sections Nos. 3799 and 1314; and towards the west by part of Rural Section No. 104 and a road-line: excepting from the above-described area a road-line (Hill’s Road) and a pipe reserve: as the same is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 19200, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Christchurch, this fourteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

HEKEAO SETTLEMENT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,209 acres and 8 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks III. and VII., Shepherd’s Bush Survey District, and comprising Lots Nos. 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 19, 22, 23, 24, part of No. 27, and an area of 10 acres reserved for church and school purposes, the foregoing being subdivisions of the Anama Estate, as shown upon deposited plans 1083 and 1084, in the Land Transfer District Office, Christchurch: as the above area is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 19198, deposited in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
