Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

  1. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  2. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  3. The Chairman of Te Puke Road Board shall be the Chairman of the Board. He may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  4. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Te Puke Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”


RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of December, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Auckland Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 3 roods 4 perches, more or less, situate in the Survey District of Maketu, being Section No. 50 of Block II. of the said survey district. Bounded towards the north by a road, 950 links; towards the west by a road, 1450 links; towards the south by Section No. 13 of Block II. aforesaid, 950 links; and towards the west by a road, 1450 links: be the said several admeasurements a little more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Kiwitea County Council.


RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of December, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto has been permanently set apart for a gravel reserve:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that the said land should be vested in the Kiwitea County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Kiwitea County,” in trust, as a gravel reserve.


SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 118, Block XIV., Apiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 2; towards the east by Section 2; towards the south by Section 2; and towards the west by the Birmingham Road: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

Vesting Reserves in the Clifton County Council.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto were permanently set apart as gravel reserves on the twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said lands in the Clifton County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Clifton County,” in trust, for gravel reserves.


SCHEDULE.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 16 perches, more or less, being Section No. 6, Block III., Waitara Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 5, 1281·4 links; towards the east by Section No. 5, 665·8 links; towards the south by the Main North Road, 852·8 links; towards the west by Section No. 5, 555·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Section No. 45, Block IV., Waitara Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 26, 1323·9 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 25, 468·2 links; towards the south-west by the Okoke Road, 1389 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Selwyn County Council.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of December, 1897.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was permanently reserved for river-protection purposes on the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Selwyn County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Selwyn County,” in trust, for river-protection purposes.


SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 8089, Block VI., Leeston Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Rural Section No. 20959 and a road-line; towards the north-east by a road-line and the western boundary of Rural Section No. 3597; and towards the south by the River Selwyn: save and excepting thereout Reserve 2487 (in red), containing 9 acres 3 roods, which is included within the above-described boundaries: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.
