Land taken for a Further Portion of the Railway from the
Main Line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to Oteramika and
Toitois: Seaward Bush Branch, Remaining Part of Mataura
Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a further portion of the
railway from the main line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to
Oteramika and Toitois, Seaward Bush Branch, namely, the
remaining part of Mataura Section:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to
be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land
for the purpose hereinafter specified have been observed
and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on me by section
one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act,
1894,” and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is
taken for the further portion of the said line of railway
hereinbefore specified.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly;
Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-third day of December, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.

Purposes of the Waimea Plains Railway.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Waimea Plains
Railway to take further land in Hokonui Survey District, in
addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of
the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections
twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The
Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of “The Land for Settlements Act Amendment
Act, 1895,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice,
with the consent of the Wallace County Council, hereby proclaim as closed the roads in the Wallace County hereinafter
described, that is to say:—
