Land set apart as a Site for a Native Township in the Hawke’s Bay Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the third section of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of Native land situated in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby set apart as a site for a Native township, and I do hereby assign the name of “Te Puia” to such Native township.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land, being a portion of Te Puia or Waipiro No. 6 Block, situate in Block XVI., Mata Survey District, in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, and containing by admeasurement 343 acres, more or less. Bounded by a line commencing at the east side of the Gisborne-Awanui Road where it is intersected by the southern boundary-line of the Waipiro No. 1 Block, and proceeding thence southerly along the east side of that road, 350·3 links; thence along a line bearing due south (true), 4950 links; thence by a line bearing due west (true), 6600 links; thence along a line bearing due north (true), about 5100 links, to the Makarika Stream; thence easterly along that stream to its intersection with the southern boundary-line of Waipiro No. 1 Block; and thence along lines bearing N. 89° 43′ E., 2546 links; N. 86° 33′ E., 2930 links; and S. 87° 13′ E., 514·7 links, to the point of commencement. Be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

SCHEDULE.

HUNDALEE BLOCK.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 38,329 acres, more or less, situated in Hundalee Survey District, and being Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block XVIII.; Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block XXI.; and Small Grazing-runs Nos. 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, and 97: as the said area is delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 35623a, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
