Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Street in the City of Nelson.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
form part of land taken for the purposes of the
Nelson-Greymouth Railway, and it is considered desirable
to allocate such lands to the purposes of a street:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister for
Railways that such lands are not required for railway pur-
poses: And whereas such lands are situated in the City of
Nelson, the local authority of which has consented to the
issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said street:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested
by section one hundred and seventy-seven of "The Public
Works Act, 1894," and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto
shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette,
become a street, and that the said street shall be under the
control of the Corporation of the City of Nelson, and shall be
maintained by the said Corporation in like manner as other
public highways are controlled and maintained by the said
Corporation.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the City of Nelson, containing by ad-
measurement 2 roods 12 perches, more or less, being a portion
of land reserved for railway purposes, situate near the
junction of Russell Street and Haven Road, being bounded
on the north by a line, 9 feet distant from, concentric with,
and south of the centre-line of railway, and on the south by
Haven Road.

Also all that area in the City of Nelson, containing by ad-
measurement 3 roods 24 perches, more or less, being a portion
of land reserved for railway purposes, situate near the
junction of Halifax Street and Haven Road, being bounded
on the north-east by a line 9 feet distant from, parallel to,
and south-west of the centre-line of railway, and on the
south-west by Haven Road.

As the said two parcels of land are more particularly
delineated on the plan marked 7468, deposited in the office
of the Minister for Railways, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly;
Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished

Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this second day of November, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-seven.

Powers delegated to the Little River Domain Board under
"The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day
of November, 1897.

Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.

In exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council thereof, doth hereby revoke certain Orders in
Council, dated the nineteenth day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-two, and the twelfth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, making delega-
tion of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and
doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present
Order, delegate, but only with respect to the pieces or
parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the
powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers
under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to
the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the
Little River Domain Board, namely,--

HUGH DUNCANSON BUCHANAN,
HENRY WHITE,
WILLIAM HUGH MONTGOMERY,
WILLIAM BIRDLING, Jun., and
JAMES OPENSRAW COOP

(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the fourth Saturday in each month, at seven o'clock p.m.,
    at the Library, Little River, or at such other time or place
    as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first
    meeting shall be held on Saturday, the twenty-seventh day
    of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven,
