Notice to Mariners, No. 19 of 1897.
LEADING-BEACONS, NEW RIVER ENTRANCE, FOVEAUX STRAIT, SOUTH ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND.

Wellington, N.Z., 26th October, 1897.
THE Borough Council of Invercargill have notified that two triangular-shaped beacons are being erected at New River Harbour for the purpose of guiding vessels crossing the bar. The beacons will be in position on the 30th October, 1897. They are situated on the sandhills on the south side of the channel, and are about two miles inside of Point Island. When in line, these beacons bear from each other E. by N. ½ N. and W. by S. ½ S. respectively. The front or western beacon is erected on an elevation 80 ft. above sea-level, and is 10 ft. high, and painted white, with a black top. The back or eastern beacon is erected on an elevation 120 ft. above sea-level, and is situated 150 yards away from the western beacon. It is 10 ft. high, and painted white.
Sailing Directions: Vessels before entering the harbour should bring the leading-beacons in line (E. by N. ½ N.), and continue on that course until they pick up the first red buoy half a mile above the Pilot-station.
NOTE.—All bearings are correct magnetic.

has ceased to be an Officiating Minister in connection with that religious body. His name has therefore been withdrawn from the List of Officiating Ministers under “The Marriage Act, 1880,” for the year 1897.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act, the value of the said land being less than £100.

SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 12 perches, more or less, situated in the extension of the Township of St. Andrew’s, being Allotment 22, Block I., on a plan of subdivision of part of Section 20, Block VI., Town District, having a frontage to Peter Street of 75 links by a depth of 102 links.
Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 40 acres, more or less, being the south-eastern portion of Allotment 113, Parish of Pupuke, in the County of Hokianga and Provincial District of Auckland. The grantee and last registered owner is Richard Wilson, described as of Waikato, military settler, of whom or of whose family nothing tangible is ascertainable.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Bounded on the north by Queen Street, 108 links; on the east by Allotment 33, 283 links; on the south by Allotment 45, 108 links; and on the west by Allotments 30 and 31, 271 links. The registered owner is Henry Meade Hamilton, described as a colonel in Her Majesty’s service.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
