1874" (hereinafter termed "the said Acts"), it was ordered,
approved, and directed that in contracts to be made under
the said Acts in the case of assurances effected on the lives of
the sea-going officers and engineers in the employ of the
Union Steamship Company of New Zealand (Limited), the
rates of premium should be those set forth in the modified
table contained in the Schedule to the said Order in Council:
And whereas it is expedient that the said Order in Council
and the table contained in the Schedule thereto should be
revoked:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said Acts, and
of all other powers and authorities in this behalf enabling
him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the
said Order in Council of the twenty-fifth day of September,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, and the table
contained in the Schedule thereto, and doth hereby order
that this present Order in Council shall come into force and
take effect upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the owner of the land described in the Schedule
hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of
such land contained in the Crown grant bearing date the
eighteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-eight, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been
duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court
has recommended that such restrictions be removed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by the fifty-second section of "The Native
Land Court Act, 1894," and in accordance with the recom-
mendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order
and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown
grant on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 27 perches, being part of
Section 542, City of Wellington, held under Crown grant
dated 18th March, 1868, in favour of Ihaia Porutu and

Rural Lands in the Canterbury Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby
declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the
twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in
the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of
purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or
valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be
sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold,
occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the
Governor being previously obtained to every such sale, lease,
or mortgage."

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the Native owner of the land described in the
Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the aliena-
tion of such land contained in the Crown grant bearing
date the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two, and now contained in partition order of the
Native Land Court dated twelfth day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, may be removed:
And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native
Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that such
restrictions be removed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers conferred upon him by the fifty-second section
of "The Native Land Court Act, 1894," and in accordance
with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth
hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by
the said Crown grant and partition order on the alienation
of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 30 acres 2 roods, situate
in the Provincial District of Taranaki, being Section No. 31A,
Waitara West, in the Waitara Survey District, held under
partition order of the Native Land Court dated 12th Novem-
ber, 1896, in favour of Paranihi Tukoko, and containing the
following restrictions: "Inalienable by sale, or by lease for
a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, ex-
cept with the assent of the Governor being previously ob-
tained to every such sale, lease, or mortgage."
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.
