regulations (hereinafter called “the principal regulations”) under “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894,” which were gazetted on the seventh idem: And whereas it is expedient to amend the principal regulations in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the aforesaid Act, and of all other powers and authorities him enabling in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor doth hereby make the following regulation, that is to say,—

  1. Clauses 28 and 29 of the principal regulations, and also the Form No. 15 in the Schedule thereto, are hereby revoked, and the following are substituted in lieu thereof:—

28A. Whenever the Board desires to refer any matter before them to be settled by the Court of Arbitration (hereinafter called “the Court”), the Board shall in their report specify the matter with reasonable particularity, and refer it to be settled by the Court; and forthwith upon the filing of such report such matter, and also the industrial dispute to which it relates, shall be deemed to be before the Court, and the Clerk shall transmit to the Court all the papers and proceedings in the reference.

28B. Upon receipt from the Clerk of a certified copy of the Board’s report that they have been unable to bring about any settlement of an industrial dispute satisfactory to the parties thereto, any of the parties thereto may, by notice in the Form No. 15A in the Schedule hereto, require the Clerk to refer the dispute to the Court; and forthwith upon the filing of such notice the dispute to which it relates shall be deemed to be before the Court.

  1. Whenever the Clerk cannot conveniently attend the sittings of the Court, the Minister of Justice may appoint any other fit person to attend such sittings in the stead and as the deputy of the Clerk, and the deputy whilst so attending shall perform the functions and duties of the Clerk.

  2. Clause 31 of the principal regulations shall be construed subject to the last-preceding clause hereof.

  3. Whenever the Clerk (being the Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court) is absent from the office of that Court the person for the time being acting as Deputy Registrar shall also act as the Clerk.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be a Trustee, in the place of John O. Redfern, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Kowai Pass Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the thirtieth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.
