WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—continued.

County. District. Section. Block. Area. Cash Price. Occupation with Right of Purchase: Rent, 5 per Cent. Lease in Perpetuity: Rent, 4 per Cent.
Per Acre. Total Price. Rent per Acre.

These sections are situated on the Wairepu, Pukemapou, and Quarry Roads, in the Palmerston North Knights of Labour Block, access being obtained by Murray’s Track and Watershed Road, and are distant twenty-six to thirty miles from Hunterville, from which place they are approached for twenty-two miles by a dray-road. Mangaweka will probably be brought within fifteen to twenty miles when the roads leading thereto are opened out for horse traffic.

The land is of an undulating character, with a small portion level on each section. The soil is loamy, on a papa formation, and fair to good throughout—in some places really rich; this is the general character of the country, as evidenced by the grass on the clearings, paddocks, gardens, &c., of settlers on adjoining sections.

The sections are covered with forest of a mixed character, containing kahikatea, maire, rimu, the undergrowth being of the ordinary description, and are watered by streams and springs.
