TELEGRAM FROM SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES TO HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR.
Downing Street, 18th June, 1897.
In view of large numbers of Jubilee offerings to Her Majesty the Queen, give notice that the Queen, although fully appreciating kind sentiments of the donors, regrets the rules respecting the offerings from private individuals whom she is not personally acquainted with prevent her receiving such presents in commemoration of the sixty years' reign.

THE following special order, made by the Waimate Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.
Special Order subdividing the District into Three Legal Sub-divisions.
FIRSTLY, That the Waimate Road District be subdivided into three (3) subdivisions, having the following names and boundaries:—Northern Subdivision: Bounded on or towards the north-west by the Taranaki County; on or towards the north-east by the Stratford County; on or towards the east by the Palmer Road; on or towards the south by the Railway Reserve. Central Subdivision: Bounded on or towards the north by the Railway Reserve; on or towards the east by the Palmer Road; on or towards the west by the block-line dividing Block XIII., Kaupokonui Survey District, from Block XIV., Opunake Survey District; on or towards the south by the block-lines dividing the Waimate and Kaupokonui Survey Districts. Southern Subdivision: Bounded on or towards the north by the southern boundary of Central Subdivision and the Railway Reserve; on or towards the east by the Palmer Road, the boundary between Blocks III. and IV., Waimate Survey District, to the Inaha Road, and thence along the centre-line of the said Inaha Road to the Tasman Sea; on or towards the west by the Taranaki County; and on or towards the south by the Tasman Sea: exclusive of the Manaia Town District.
Secondly, That the Southern Subdivision have three (3) members, and the Central and Northern Subdivisions have two (2) members each.
Thirdly, That the special order takes effect from date of gazetting.
In witness whereof the seal of the Waimate Road Board was hereunto affixed by resolution of the Board, this 15th day of September, 1897.
I certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Borough of Dannevirke.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Dannevirke, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886."

RESULT of Poll taken on 15th September, 1897, on Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £2,500 for Waterworks.
TOTAL on roll: 303 burgesses, with 377 votes; ratepayers voted under amendment, 1896, of "Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," 16, with 20 votes: total, 319 burgesses, with 397 votes. For the proposal: 184 burgesses, with 247 votes. Against the proposal: Voted against, 11 burgesses, with 15 votes; voted informal, 1 burgess, with 1 vote; not voted, 123 burgesses, with 134 votes: total, 135 burgesses, with 150 votes.
I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

I, Campbell Thomson, of Dannevirke, Town Clerk, solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," in the matter of obtaining the sanction of the burgesses to a proposal for a special loan, have been duly taken with reference to the special loan for £2,500 for which a poll of the burgesses of the Borough of Dannevirke was taken on the 15th September, 1897; and I make this declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

THE following special order, made by the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned special order, passed by the above Board at a meeting held on the 7th August, 1897, was duly confirmed at a special meeting held on the 11th September, 1897, viz:—
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual interest and charges upon an additional loan of £30 (making a total of £330) for the purpose of constructing a cart-traffic road from the north-western corner of Allotment No. 23, Section 238, Taratahi Plain Block, to the south-western corner of Allotment No. 30 thereof, and from Brooklyn Road to the northern boundary of Section No. 237, this Board now do by special order levy a special rate of 14d. in the pound equally over all rateable properties within No. 6 Subdivision of the Taratahi-Carterton Road District, and that such special rate be annual-recurring for twenty-six years, payable in half-yearly instalments on the 1st day of December and June in each year."
