Lands permanently reserved.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the two hundred and thirty-sixth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said two hundred and thirty-fifth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the warrants the dates of which are specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notifications of which were published in the Gazette specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

Notifying Lands in Auckland for Sale by Public Auction.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the fifth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto following the description of such lands respectively.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Whangarei County, Parish Waipu.
Section 347: 318 acres; total upset price, £340.
Section 348: 445 acres; total upset price, £183.
Broken forest land; well watered; and accessible from Waipu Cove, three to four miles distant. Section 347 contains about 457,000 ft. kauri timber, and Section 348 about 55,000 ft. sup.
Whangaroa County, Whangaroa Survey District.
Section 3, Block VIII.: 287 acres; upset price, £190.
About four miles from Whangaroa, and comprises fern land and mixed forest. Contains about 120,000 ft. kauri timber.
Cambridge East Town.
Lot 349: 1 acre; upset price, £20. Near Tekoutu Lake, with frontages to Princes and Grosvenor Streets.

Commissioners, to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in the Auckland Land District known as the Pouakani No. 1, Pouakani B No. 8, Pouakani B No. 7, Pouakani B No. 11, Pouakani C No. 3 Blocks, and Maraeroa A Block, Section 1, situate in Blocks XVI., Wharepapa Survey District; XIII., Patetere South Survey District; IV., VIII., X., XI., XII., XIV., XV., and XVI., Ranginui Survey District; and I., II., V. VI., IX., X., XIII., and XIV., Whakamaru Survey District; and containing by admeasurement fifty thousand three hundred acres, more or less: as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892,” aforesaid.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

to be a Trustee, in the place of Alexander M. Nicol, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Waikoikoi Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons
