"THE WEST COAST SETTLEMENT
RESERVES ACT, 1892."

NOTICE to NATIVE OWNERS and LESSEE of a
MEETING to be held at the Town Hall, WAI-
TOTARA, at 10 o'clock a.m. on THURSDAY, the
30th SEPTEMBER, 1897, to fix the RENT for NEW
LEASE to GEORGE HUTCHISON of Sections 301,
302, 308, and 352, OKOTUKU, known as “Ihupuku,”
in the Provincial District of Wellington, con-
taining 562 acres (more or less), being Portions
of Land comprised in Confirmed Lease Regis-
tered No. 45.

TO Te Kepa Heheu, Ria Ngaparuki, Horonuku
Apia, Whakama Karihi, Tarewa, Kotuku,
Atutahi Pirikahu, Tini Pirikahu, Taroi Piri-
kahu, Koroneho Pirikahu, Wakarua te Karihi,
Ngaurn Heni, Te Mere Pounamu, Hipera te
Kau, Kahukaka, Te Kepa te Keheu, Tainakore,
Tamu Rakei, Taruke Wharanga, Te Ari Rakei,
Ngakati Wharanga, Terewai, Ripeka Tauri,
Harata Taipukore, Whakarua, Poharama Taka-
rangi, Tutae Ropiha, Mere Herepu, Kenana
Herepu (trustee, Horonuku Apia), Te Whatikini
Whakarua, Rina Whakarua, Irihapeti Raukura,
Ihipera Koria, Hipera te Kou, Mere Herepu,
Tutae, Mere Pounamu, Mateone, Tutae Taurua,
Terewhai, and the other Native owners of all
those pieces of land situate in the Provincial
District of Wellington, being Sections 301, 302,
308, and 352, Okotuku, known as “Ihupuku,” and
containing by admeasurement 562 acres (more
or less), being portions of the land comprised in
confirmed lease No. 45; and to George Hutchison,
of Wellington, Solicitor, assignee.

Whereas the above-named George Hutchison
has given notice to me, under the provisions of
section 8 of “The West Coast Settlement Re-
serves Act, 1892,” that he desires to obtain under
that section a new lease of the land above de-
scribed; and I consider his application ought to
be given effect to: Now, therefore, I do hereby
appoint a meeting to take place between the said
George Hutchison and all the Native owners of
the above-described land, for the purpose of
fixing the rent to be paid for the said land for
the first twenty-one years of the new lease; and
I fix the Town Hall, Waitotara, as the place
where, and Thursday, the 30th day of Septem-
ber, 1897, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, as the
time when, such meeting shall take place.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The
Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

In the matter of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894”; and
in the matter of a parcel of land known as Lot 1 of Sub-
urban Section No. 50 on the public map of the Meeanee
District, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay.

I HEREBY give notice that by an order of his Honour
Worley Bassett Edwards, Esq., a Judge of the Su-
preme Court, at Wellington, made on the 24th day of
August, 1897, all that parcel of land, containing 6 acres
2 roods 16 perches, more or less, being Subdivision 1 on
deposited plan, and part of Suburban Section 50 on the plan
of the Meeanee District, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s
Bay, was vested in the Public Trustee, under and subject to
the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Dated at Wellington, this 3rd day of September, 1897.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands
Act, 1894.”

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing
12 poles, more or less, being part of Allotment 288 of the
Glen Estate, Mornington, in the Provincial District of
Otago. This land is in the name of Donald Douglas, who
went to Melbourne several years ago, and who cannot be
traced. There is also a mortgage to the English, Scottish,
and Australian Bank (Limited) registered against it.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries,
and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or
owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes
that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within
six months of the date of the publication of this notice in
this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public
Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice;
and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time
limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will
exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and
by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Supply of Twine.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 1st September, 1897.

TENDERS will be received at the General Post Office,
Wellington, until the 22nd instant, for the supply and
delivery at the Post and Telegraph Store, Wellington, of
such twine of New Zealand manufacture as may be required
by the department during the ensuing three years. The
approximate quantity will be ten (10) tons per annum.

Samples may be seen at this office, or at any Chief Post
Office in the colony.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale or selection, in terms of section 136 of “The Land Act, 1892,”
either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for lease in perpetuity, at the option of the selector, on and
after Wednesday, the 15th September, 1897.

If more than one application be received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be
decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m.
