A PPLICATION having been made to me to register a transmission of the estate of THOMAS MAHER (deceased) to the PUBLIC TRUSTEE, affecting Section 54, Block XVIII., Mangahao Survey District (Pahiatua Village Settlement), being the land comprised in Crown lease, Vol. 1B, folio 17, and evidence having been lodged of the loss of the said Crown lease, I hereby give notice that I will dispense with the production of the said Crown lease, and register the transmission as requested, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 16th day of September, 1897.

THE AKAROA AND WAINUI ROAD BOARD.
N OTICE is hereby given, in accordance with “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that it is the intention of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board to take the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto, being the property of Mr. John Porter, for the purpose of altering the course of a certain road situate within the boundaries of the Akaroa and Wainui Road District—to wit, the Lighthouse Road.
All persons affected by such deviation shall set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such lands, and shall send such writing, addressed to the Clerk, to the office of the said Board, at Duvauchelle, on or before the 27th day of September, 1897.
Plans of the said lands required to be taken may be inspected by all persons at Mr. Beilby Barker’s coach-office, Duvauchelle, at all reasonable times prior to such date.

All that piece of land, containing 8 perches and two-tenths of a perch, more or less, being part of R.S. 1919, Block VIII., Akaroa Survey District, commencing at the south-west angle of R.S. 1919; thence, at a bearing of 55 degrees 30 minutes, a distance of 85·8 links; thence, 299 degrees 55 minutes, a distance of 131·4 links; thence, 159 degrees 30 minutes, a distance of 122·3 links, to the point of commencement, and being the land coloured blue on the said plans.

A T a meeting of Waitaki County Council, held on the 30th June, 1897, it was unanimously resolved, “That the petition of ratepayers of Ahuriri Road District be received; that the Ahuriri Road Board be abolished, and the said district be merged in Waitaki County Council on and after the 31st July, 1897.”
