Land in Cheviot Estate for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned land
will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, upon
the terms and conditions hereunder stated, on and after
Wednesday, the 8th September, 1897.
If there be more than one application received for the
same land on the same day, then the order of selection will
be decided by ballot, at this office, on the following day, at
11 a.m.

SCHEDULE.

CHEVIOT COUNTY.

SURVEYED FIRST-CLASS LAND.
LOWRY PEAKS SURVEY DISTRICT.

This section is situated in the central portion of the
Cheviot Estate, on the Hurunui-Homestead Road, about
one mile and a half in a south-westerly direction from the
Township of Mackenzie, and comprises rich agricultural
land in English grass, a portion of the area being low-lying,
and liable to flood after heavy rains.

CHEVIOT SURVEY DISTRICT.

This section is situated about three-quarters of a mile
from Port Robinson, and consists of open, broken agricul-
tural and pastoral land, the soil being of a good sandy-loam
character, carrying tussock and English grass.

Land in Wainono Village Settlement for Selection on Lease

in Perpetuity.

THE under-mentioned Crown land will be open for selec-
tion at this office, on lease in perpetuity, on and after
Wednesday, the 15th September, 1897. If more than one
application be received on the same day, priority of selection
will be decided by ballot on the following day at 11 a.m.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale or selection, in terms of section 136 of "The Land Act, 1892," either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for lease in perpetuity, at the option of the selector, on and after Wednesday, the 25th August, 1897.
If more than one application be received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m.

Situated about one mile from Herekino Post-office. Five acres open land on Section 8, and about 2 acres open on Section 14; balance on both sections light mixed forest.

lying north-east of the Township of Waimate. It contains
undulating and flat agricultural land of good quality, and is
suitable for occupation by gardeners and small farmers.

Kauri Timber, Auckland, for Sale by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned
green kauri timber, standing upon Sections 6 of
Block I. and 79 of Block V., Hukerenui Survey District, in
the Bay of Islands County, about two miles from Towai
Post-office and eight miles from Kawakawa, will be offered
for sale by public auction, at this office, on Friday, the
17th day of September, 1897, at 11 o'clock a.m. :
About 190,000 sup. feet, standing on Section 6, Block I.,
Hukerenui Survey District. Upset price, £63 6s. 8d.
About 220,000 sup. feet, standing on Section 79, Block V.,
Hukerenui Survey District. Upset price, £73 6s. 8d.
This timber, if not required for home consumption, is to
be conveyed to railway and shipped at Kawakawa or
Whakapara.

Conditions of Sale.—One-half the purchase-money to be
paid in cash or by marked cheque on the fall of the
hammer; the balance within three months. Timber to be
removed within one year from date of sale.

small grazing-run will be open for lease upon appli-
cation at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill,
on and after Wednesday, the 1st September, 1897, at the
half-yearly rental stated.

Second-class Land.

Land partly level and swampy; vegetation principally
snow-tussock. Height above sea-level, from 100 ft. to 1,300 ft.
Distance from Mossburn Railway-station, about two miles.
This run is burdened with £196 10s. as valuation for im-
provements.
