HIS Honour Judge Ward has, by an order dated the 12th day of July, 1897, appointed ARTHUR D’OYLY BAYFEILD, of Westport, Commission Agent, to be the Official Liquidator of the above-named company.

In the matter of a Bill to be intituled “An Act to provide for the Protection of Under-tenants of the Block of Land in the Provincial District of Taranaki called Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1r.”
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made at the next session of the General Assembly of New Zealand for leave to bring in a Bill to be intituled, “An Act to provide for the Protection of Under-tenants of the Block of Land in the Provincial District of Taranaki called Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1r”; and that the objects of such Bill are,—

To provide that upon due payment to the Public Trustee by each of the said under-tenants of the rent reserved in and by the under-lease to him of any part of the said block such under-tenant shall be absolutely freed from all liability to distress or eviction by reason of the non-payment of the rent payable to the Native lessors of the said block under the lease from such Native owners to their immediate lessee.

To provide for the due payment to such Native owners of the rent payable to them under such last-mentioned lease.
-
To provide for the appropriation of all moneys received by the Public Trustee under the provisions of the said Act.
And notice is hereby further given that copies of the said Bill will be deposited at the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders, at Wellington, within fourteen days after the commencement of the said session.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A PUBLIC ROAD IN THE BOROUGH OF MASTERTON.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, a public road, being an extension of Junction Street to the railway-station; and, for the purposes of such public work, the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.
And notice is further given that the plan of the said work and of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Borough Council, at Masterton, and is there open for inspection.
And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of the said land, shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Masterton Borough Council.
