I, THE undersigned, hereby make application to register
the Golden Valley Gold-mining Company (Limited)
as a limited company under the provisions of "The Mining
Companies Act, 1894."

  1. The name of the company is to be the Golden Valley
    Gold-mining Company (Limited).

  2. The place of intended operations is at Coromandel.

  3. The registered office of the company will be situated at
    No. 10, New Zealand Insurance Company's Buildings,
    Queen Street, Auckland.

  4. The nominal capital of the company is one hundred
    and fifty thousand pounds, in one hundred and fifty thousand
    shares of one pound each.

  5. The number of shares subscribed for is one hundred
    and forty-five thousand, being not less than two-thirds of
    the entire number of shares in the company.

  6. The number of paid-up shares is one hundred and
    forty-five thousand.

  7. The amount already paid up or accredited paid up on
    one hundred and forty-five thousand shares is one pound
    per share.

  8. The name of the Manager is Dennis Gilmore Mac-
    Donnell.

  9. The names and addresses and occupations of the share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at this date,

NEW GOLCONDA GOLD-MINING COMPANY (NO
LIABILITY).

I, THE undersigned Manager, hereby give notice that an
increase in the capital of the above-named company
was, on the 19th day of July, 1897, resolved on.

The mode adopted for the increase is by issuing seventy-
five thousand new shares of two shillings each, of which
ninepence-farthing per share shall be considered paid up, in
addition to the seventy-five thousand shares now existing in
the company.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT EXTEN-
SION OF WATER-RACE.

Otago Mining District, 27th July, 1897.

To the Warden at Roxburgh.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct an
extension of a water-race to convey and use water for
mining purposes, commencing at a point on my race from
Teviot River known as Hercules No. 1 Race (License L. R.
No. 9567, 30/1/97), at the saddle near the Hercules Flat, and
about a mile and a half from head of said race, thence run-
ning in a southerly direction through small portion of W. T.
Scrimgeour's freehold, through Mrs. Heron's grazing-run,
through Alexander Macdonald's freehold, thence through
other portion of W. T. Scrimgeour's freehold, and terminat-
ing at Anderson's Flat, one mile and a half at lower end being
carried in pipes.

The length of such race is is six miles and a half, or there-
abouts, and its intended course is southerly.

By-washes intended to be made at Thomson's Gully (2),
Williams's Gully, Cockburn's Gully (3), Rae's Gully (2), and
Rocky Gully (2).

The mean depth of such race is 2 ft. 9 in., and the mean
breadth is 5 ft. 6 in., and it is proposed to carry fifty Govern-
ment heads of water.

Cost of construction: £5,000.

Time required for construction: Two years.

Number and date of miner's right: No. 3808; 15th
January, 1897.

be lodged forbidding the same within one month from the
date of the Gazette containing this notice.

now of Wellington, Widow, for Section 260, Town of West-

hereby give notice that I shall issue such provisional certifi-
cate as requested on the expiration of fourteen days from
