Amending Savings-bank Regulation No. 26.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of July, 1897.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Post Office Savings Bank Act,
1867" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council
to make, and from time to time, as he shall see occasion, to
alter, regulations for superintending, inspecting, and regulat-
ing the mode of keeping the accounts of depositors, and with
respect to the making of deposits, and to the withdrawal of
deposits and interest, and to all other matters incidental to
the carrying the above-recited Act into execution: And
whereas by Order in Council dated on the second day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, certain
regulations were made under the authority of the said Act,
and it is expedient to revoke clause twenty-six of such
regulations, and to make other provision in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities for that purpose
vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, cancel and revoke clause twenty-six of the regula-
tions made by the said recited Order in Council of the
second day of December, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make and prescribe
the regulation contained in the Schedule hereto: And, with
the like advice and consent, His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government doth hereby order and declare
that this present Order in Council, and the regulation hereby
made, shall come into force upon the first day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

SCHEDULE.

  1. The trustees of any savings-bank constituted under
    "The Savings Bank Act, 1858," or of any legally-constituted
    friendly, charitable, or provident society, and such other
    non-mercantile societies as the Governor in Council may
    from time to time declare to be societies to which this rule
    extends, may, when duly authorised by their rules or con-
    stitution, deposit their funds, without restriction as to
    amount, in the Post-Office Savings-Bank, and interest on
    such accounts will not be restricted, but will be allowed on
    every complete pound in deposit. Provided always that a
    copy of the rules of the savings-bank, society, or institution
    be forwarded by post to the Postmaster-General, with the
    registered names and addresses of the trustees or officers,
    who will then be furnished with the necessary instructions.

Validating Burgess Roll, Borough of Mosgiel.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this second
day of August, 1897.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the burgess
roll of the Borough of Mosgiel for the year com-
mencing the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-seven, was completed after the time required by
"The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," and it is expedient
to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in him by the said "Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1886," doth hereby declare that the burgess roll
of the Borough of Mosgiel for the year commencing from
the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven, so made as aforesaid, shall be as valid to all intents
and purposes as though the same had been made within the
times required by the said Act.

Appointing Day for closing under "The Shops and Shop-
assistants Act, 1894."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this 2nd day
of August, 1897.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT
IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the local authority of the Borough of
Oamaru, being duly authorised by "The Shops and
Shop-assistants Act, 1894," to appoint by special resolution,
in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-seven, the day on which shops in the said borough
are to be closed, in accordance with the said Act, has failed
so to appoint a day:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon
me by section ten of the said Act, do hereby appoint the
day set opposite the name of the said borough to be the day
upon which shops in the said borough shall be closed in
accordance with the said Act, viz.,β€”

Declaring Hokianga Oyster-fishery, within which Oysters may
be taken.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by
section fifteen of "The Sea-fisheries Act, 1894," I,
James Prendergast, Administrator of the Government of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare the bays,
estuaries, and tidal waters of Hokianga Harbour, situated
inside a straight line drawn from the signal-station on the
South Head to the southernmost point of the north head of
that harbour, to be an oyster-fishery under the name of
"The Hokianga Oyster-fishery."
And I do hereby further declare and prescribe that it shall
be lawful to take oysters, within the periods prescribed in
that behalf, in such oyster-fishery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this thirtieth day of
July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.
