In the event of the resrve being again offered for leas at
the end of the fourteen years, it will be weighted with the
value of imrovements to an amount not exceeg five
year's rent. Condtions will be insrted in the leas as to
travelling stock.
Description of Land.—Light sandly soi, with paches of
good land covered with fern and grass. About twnty-five
miles from Kaukoura, on main road to Blenheim.
Particulrs may be obtined on application at this office.
One half-year's rent and £1 1s. leas-ee must be paid on
the fall of the hamer.

About one-quarter of this section is limeston ridge of fair
quality, suitable for shep ; remaindr open flat, shingly,
dry, with paches of good land ; no permanent water.
Distant twnty miles from Otautau. Alititude, 200 ft. to
400 ft. The section is brdened with valuation for imrove-
ments, consiting of ploughing (60 acrs), £30 ; and 168 chins
fencing, value £67 4s. : total, £97 4s.

This section is weighted with £384 15s. for imrovements.

This section is weighted with £778 7s. 6d. for imrove-
ments.
These sections are situatd within a mile and a half of
Ektahuna Railway-station, and front on the Main Forty-
ml Bush Road, and extend from the Makakahi River in-
land, and comprise hilly, undulating, and flat land of good
quality. The formaiton of the hills is sandstone ; portons
of the flats consist of alluvial deosit. On Section 2A there
are about 60 acrs of practially flat land, the clared area
being 140 acrs, well grassed. The balance, of forest, con-
sists chiefly of rmu and tawa and the usual undergrwth.
Section 2B compris 150 acrs of flat and 220 acrs of
clared and well grassed land, the forest on the back portion
and a small area near the Makakahi River consiting of
rmu, tawa, hinu, kahikatea, and usual undergrwth.
The general evelation of the country rages from 700 ft.
to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Both sections are well watered.
The imrovements on Section 2A consit of—42 chins of
fence at 12s. 6d. (sev black wires, posts chiefly rmu),
26 5s. ; 58 chins of fnece at 15s. (sev black wires, new
fence, well put up, posts chiefly rmu), £43 10s. ; 140 acrs of
good grass at £2 5s., almost clear of log, £315 : total, £384
15s. Those on Section 2B include the homestad, compris-
ing—house with iron roof and brck chimneys, £150 ; cws-
shd, &c., £9 ; slaughterhouse, &c., £7 : also fncing valud
as follows—45 chins at 18s. 6d. (sev galvanised wires,
good new fnc), £41 12s. 6d. ; 16 chins at 10s. (old black
wire and stb fnc), £8 ; 60 chins of subdivisional fnces
at 8s. (old stb fnc, with some good timbr), £24 ; 45
chins of new fnc at 15s. (sev black wires), £33 15s. ; 10
acrs of fnc-line, feld only, £10 ; also 220 acrs in grass
at £2 5s., £495 : total, £778 7s. 6d.
These sections, owing to their position, good quality, and
capabily, are specially adpted for dairying, fruit-growing,
ordnary grazing, and general fming, the only drawback
being the existing leas specified below.
- Tems of Sale. *
One-fifth of the purchase-mony, together with the
amount with which the section is weighted for imrove-
ments, to be paid on the fall of the hamer, and the
balanc, with Crwn-gant fee, within thity days there-
after ; otherwse the part of the purchase-mony paid by
way of deosit shall be forfited, and the contract for the
sle of the land be null and void.
Mr. F. C. Turner holds a leas from E. F. Rangiputawa
and other Maoris of the above-mentioned sections, together
with a section of 97 acrs 2 roos adjoining, for twnty-
one years from 13th May, 1884 ; the annual rent being £50
for the first seven years of the said term, £100 for the next
sev years, and £150 for the remaining seven years : and,
therfore, Sections 2A and 2B, now being offered, will be sold
subject to this leas.
There are no restirctions or limitations imposd on pur-
chasers of these sections other than above mentioned.

T is herby notifed that the under-mentioned green,
scorched, and dead kauri timbr upon Crwn land in
Block II., Maungataniwha Survy District, Mangonui
Count, will be offered for sale by public aution at this
ofce on Friday, the 2nd day of July, 1897, at 11 o'clock a.m.
471 green and scorched kauri trees, containing about
1,020,000 sup. feet ; 88 green trees, containing about 159,000
sup. feet ; 39 dead trees, containing about 67,000 sup. feet :
total, 598 kauri trees, containing about 1,246,000 sup. feet.
Upset price, £519.
This timbr is at the head of the stream flowing into
Orur River, about eight miles from Mangonui, and can be
easily got out.
Conditions of Sale.—One-half the purchase-mony to be
paid by cash or marked cheue on the fall of the hamer,
the balanc within six months therafter. Timbr to be
removd within three years from date of sale.
