appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by
this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the
parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the
powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers
under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to
the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the
Glentunnel Public Domain Board, namely,—

THOMAS BROWN,
GEORGE WEASTELL,
CHARLES HENRY ADOLPHUS TRUSCOTT OPIE,
ALBERT PORTER, and
CHARLES MARSH

(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the first Monday in each month, at eight o'clock p.m., at
    the Library, Glentunnel, or at such other time or place
    as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first
    meeting shall be held on Monday, the seventh day of June,
    one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
    Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
    Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing 100 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2407 in
the Hororata Survey District. Bounded northward by a
road-line, 4825 links; eastward by Reserve No. 1288, 1700
links; southward by the River Wakaepa; and north-west-
ward by a road-line, 1500 links.

Appointing Day for closing under "The Shops and Shop-
assistants Act, 1894."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth
day of May, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Administrator of the Government
in Council.

WHEREAS the local authority of the Town District of
Papakura, being duly authorised by "The Shops
and Shop-assistants Act, 1894," to appoint by special reso-
lution, in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-seven, the day on which shops in the said town
district are to be closed in accordance with the said Act,
has failed so to appoint a day:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon
me by section ten of the said Act, do hereby appoint the
day set opposite the name of the said town district to be
the day upon which shops in the said town district shall
be closed in accordance with the said Act, viz.:—

Town District of Papakura . . . . Tuesday.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the nineteenth section of "The
Mining Act, 1891," I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint the Post-office at the under-mentioned place to be a
post-office at which miners' rights and business licenses
respectively may be issued by the Postmaster in charge of
such post-office, viz.:

CROMARTY, Invercargill.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this eighteenth day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

JAMES PRENDERGAST,
Administrator of the Government.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the owner of the land described in the Schedule
hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of
such lands contained in the division order made by the
Native Land Court under the provisions of "The Native
Lands Division Act, 1882," bearing date the first day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and
now contained in a partition order bearing date the twenty-
fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
four, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly
made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has
recommended that such restrictions be removed:

Now, therefore, I, Sir James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me
by the fifty-second section of "The Native Land Court Act,
1894," and in accordance with the recommendation of the
Native Land Court, do hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said division and partition orders
on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 2 acres 1 rood, situate
in the district of Poverty Bay, being the land known as
Ruaotaua 7A, held under partition order dated the 24th July,
1894, in favour of Mere Hare, and containing the following
restrictions: "That the land the subject thereof may be
leased for any term not exceeding twenty-one years, but
shall be otherwise inalienable, except with the assent of the
Governor."

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this nineteenth day of
May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
by the owner of the land described in the Sche-
dule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation
of such land contained in the division order made by the
Native Land Court under the provisions of "The Native
Lands Division Act, 1882," bearing date the seventh day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three,
and the Crown grant dated the fifteenth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, and now con-
tained in a partition order of the Native Land Court bearing
date the twentieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-four, may be removed: And whereas inquiry
has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said
Court has recommended that such restrictions be removed:

Now, therefore, I, Sir James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by
the fifty-second section of "The Native Land Court Act,
1894," and in accordance with the recommendation of the
Native Land Court, do hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said division order, Crown grant,
and partition order on the alienation of the said lands are
