Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

JAMES PRENDERGAST,

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, James Prendergast, the
Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-
General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided,
do hereby declare that the rural land described in the
Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on
and after the twenty-third day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven; and also that the land
mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of
the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for
occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity,
or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain
any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in
perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the price at which
the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said
land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject
to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.β€”MANUKAU COUNTY.

Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situate in the Parish of Waiuku West, containing approxi-
mately 50 acres. Bounded towards the north-east by
Allotments Nos. 55, 54, 53, 52, 51, 50, 49, 48, 47, 46, and 45
of Section No. 2 of the Parish of Waiuku West (Maioro
Settlement); towards the south-east by a right line, being
the production of the south-eastern boundary of Allotment
No. 45 aforesaid; towards the south-west generally by
Section No. 97 of the Parish of Waiuku West; and towards
the north-west by a public road to the point of commence-
ment.

Description of land: Open sandy land of poor quality,
about eight miles from Waiuku.

Cash price, 5s. per acre; occupation with right of pur-
chase, 3d. per acre; lease in perpetuity, 2Β·4d. per acre.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this fifteenth day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.

Bringing "The Oamaru Harbour Board Leasing Act, 1896," into Operation.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Oamaru
Harbour Board Leasing Act, 1896," I, James Prendergast,
the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby notify that the said Act shall come into
operation on the first day of May next.

As witness my hand, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Wellington Acclimatisation District redefined.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those
parts of the said colony which are comprised within the
Counties of Hutt, Wairarapa North, Wairarapa South,
Pahiatua, Horowhenua, Kiwitea, Oroua, Pohangina, Mana-
watu, and Rangitikei, as such counties are respectively
constituted or existing under "The Counties Act, 1886,"
together with all boroughs and cities constituted under
"The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," which are men-
tioned in the Schedule hereto, and together also with the
Island of Kapiti, to be a district under the said Animals
Protection Act; and, further, do appoint such district to
be known by the name of "The Wellington Acclimatisation
District."

And I do further notify and declare that all notifications
issued under the said "Animals Protection Act, 1880,"
respecting the Wellington Acclimatisation District as hereto-
fore constituted shall apply to and be in force within the
Wellington Acclimatisation District as hereby defined.

SCHEDULE.

Carterton, Feilding, Foxton, Greytown, Karori, Lower
Hutt, Marton, Masterton, Melrose, Onslow, Palmerston
North, Pahiatua, Petone, City of Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, this twenty-third day
of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.

Trustees for the Hanmer Plains Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Ceme-
teries Act, 1882," I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the
first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to pro-
vide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery
specified in the second column of the said Schedule.
