Exemption of Land at Te Aroha from Occupation under
*"The Mining Act, 1891."

A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The Mining Act, 1891," I, James
Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto is
hereby exempted from occupation for mining purposes, or
for water-races, dams, or reservoirs, or for machine, busi-
ness, or residence sites.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement about 150 acres, situate in Aroha Survey
District. Bounded towards the north-west by Te Ruakaka
Block and a public road ; towards the north-east by part of
Section No. 17, Block IX., Aroha Survey District ; towards
the south-east generally by other part of Section No. 17
aforesaid and part of Te Aroha Township and railway
reserve; and towards the west by a public road: as the
same is delineated on plan marked S.G. 35364, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, Adminis-
trator of the Government in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies, at the Government House, at
Wellington; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, this twenty-eighth day of April, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-seven.

W HEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
has been acquired under the provisions of "The
Land for Settlements Act, 1894" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), and the purchase thereof has been concluded as
by the said Act is provided: And whereas it is enacted by
the said Act that all land so acquired shall be proclaimed as
Crown land subject to the provisions of the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exer-
cise and pursuance of the power and authority conferred by
the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall, on the date of the
publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be and be
deemed to be Crown land subject to the provisions of "The
Land for Settlements Act, 1894."

SCHEDULE.

POUPARAE SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing
by admeasurement 337 acres 3 roods 4 perches, more or less,
situated in Waimata and Turanganui Survey Districts.
Bounded towards the north-east by the Gisborne-Ormond
Main Road; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 1, 20,
7, and 8, Block I., Turanganui Survey District; towards
the south-west by the Ormond-Matawhero Road; and
towards the north-west by Waerangahika Sale-yards and
Nelson Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 19191, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land
District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James

by admeasurement 2,535 acres 3 roods, more or less,
situated in Moeraki Survey District. Bounded towards the
north by Sections Nos. 5 and 6, Block XV., Moeraki Survey
District; towards the east generally by parts of Sections
Nos. 63, 60, and 1 of 6, Block VIII., by Section No. 2 of 6, a
public road, and part of Section No. 44, Block VIII. afore-
said, by part of Section No. 4, Block XIV., by parts of
Sections Nos. 8, 23, 4, and 3, Block XII., and part of Section
No. 50, Block VIII.; towards the south generally by a public
road, parts of Sections Nos. 49 and 48, and Sections Nos. 47,
46, 1 of 45, 24, 23, 22, and the road forming the northern
boundary of Section No. 20, Block VIII. aforesaid; and
towards the west generally by a public road, and parts of
Sections Nos. 13, 7, 2, and 3, Block VIII. aforesaid: as the
same is delineated on plan marked S.G. 19156, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the sixth section of "The Land
Act, 1892," I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the
Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the
Proclamation of the eighth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-three, by His Excellency the
Governor, setting apart land for lease as village settlements,
shall be and the same is hereby revoked in so far as it
relates to the sections of land enumerated in the Schedule
hereto.
