NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.
Hauraki Mining District, 10th April, 1897.
To the Warden at Thames.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a water-race to divert and use water for mining purposes, commencing at a point indicated by a peg marked X at the junction of the two creeks just below Gillan’s Tail-race, and terminating at a peg marked X near the Puriri Bridge on the Main Thames to Paeroa Road.
The length of such race is one mile and a half or thereabouts, and its intended course is about south-west.
Marked out 9th April, 1897. Taken up in connection with the Goldfield Special Claim, Puriri.
The mean depth of such race is 2 ft. 6 in., and the mean breadth is 5 ft., and it is proposed to divert twenty-five Government heads of water.
Cost of construction: £500.
Time required for construction: Twelve months.
Number and date of miner’s right: 5583; 8th December, 1896.

AT extraordinary general meetings of the above-named company, duly convened, and held respectively on the 20th day of March, 1897, and the 9th day of April, 1897, the subjoined special resolutions were duly passed and confirmed:—

That the New Zealand Fruit and Vegetable Evaporating Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between GEORGE LOW BEATH and JOHN EMILLE WICKENDEN, under the style of “G. L. Beath and Co.,” at Christchurch, Drapers and Clothiers, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 20th day of February, 1897. The business will be continued as hitherto, under the title of “G. L. Beath and Co.,” by the said John Emille Wickenden, who will receive all moneys and pay all liabilities under the said Partnership.
