THE following special order, made by the Arch Hill Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

WATERWORKS BY-LAWS OF THE ARCH HILL ROAD BOARD.
BY-LAWS of the body corporate called the Arch Hill Road Board, made in pursuance of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1888,” on the 7th December, 1896; confirmed by special order and stamped with the common seal of the said body corporate on the 11th day of January, 1897 :
In pursuance of sections 126 to 131 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” both inclusive, and Part I. of “The Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1888,” the Arch Hill Road Board hereby make and levy the following rates, and declare the following as the conditions upon which the said Road Board will supply water on all rateable properties within the Arch Hill Road District from this date.
Explanation of Terms used.
“Ordinary supply” shall mean only water used for strictly domestic purposes; and the Board reserves the right to determine what shall be considered a supply for strictly domestic purposes.
“Extraordinary supply” shall mean water used for any other than purposes of “ordinary supply,” and may be charged extra accordingly.
Ordinary Supply.

On all properties in the Arch Hill Road District the annual value of which does not exceed £12 10s., a rate of 10s. per annum.

Exceeding £12 10s., and not exceeding £30, 6 per cent. per annum.
-
Exceeding £30, and not exceeding £60, 5 per cent. per annum; but not less for any tenement than 36s. per annum.
-
Exceeding £60, 4 per cent. per annum, but not less for any tenement than 60s. per annum.
Non-consumers’ Rate.
- Upon all rateable property in the said district to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards from any part of the waterworks constructed by and now vested in the said Road Board, a rate of one-half of the rates above mentioned.
If not supplied by Meter.

Urinals in hotels and manufacturing establishments, £2 per annum each; if more than three in any one premises, a reduction of 20 per cent. shall be made.

Urinals in private establishments, £1 per annum each.

Baths in hotels having ten or more bedrooms, £2 per annum each.

Baths in hotels having less than ten bedrooms, £1 per annum each.

Baths in lodging- and boarding-houses under ten bedrooms, £1 per annum each; over ten bedrooms, £2.

No overflow-pipe allowed to baths.

Baths in private houses, 10s. per annum each bath.
Extraordinary Supply (by Meter).

Manufacturers desiring to be supplied by meter may be so supplied on such terms as may be arranged by the Board.

Minimum amount charged for, 5,000 gallons per quarter.

Applications for water shall be made to the Water-supply Office, at the office of the said Board, and all necessary forms shall be obtained there.

Water-rates for such supply shall be payable half-yearly in advance, and new applications for service shall be
