Extending Time for Preparation of Valuation List of City of Christchurch.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of March, 1897.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the valuation list of the Borough of the City of Christchurch cannot be completed by or within the time mentioned in “The Rating Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in him by the said “Rating Act, 1894,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time during which such valuation list shall lie open for inspection, and during which objections thereto may be made, until the twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time declare that any leasing authority shall be subject to the provisions of the said Act, but that no such Order shall have any effect unless it be issued at the request or upon the recommendation of the leasing authority on whose behalf such Order is issued:
And whereas it has been made to appear that the Board of Governors of the Wanganui High School are a leasing authority within the meaning of the said Act, and have requested that they may be brought under the provisions thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, doth hereby order and declare that from and after the date hereof the Board of Governors of the Wanganui High School shall be subject to the provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887.”

Increasing the Holding-area of Land to Settlers in the Loanend Village Settlement, Southland.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, under the authority of section one hundred and sixty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892,” fixing the terms and conditions upon which certain village-settlement lands therein enumerated should be disposed of, it was provided that the maximum area that could be held by a leasee of lands in Block VIII., Invercargill Hundred, Loanend Village, was twenty acres:
And whereas it is expedient to allow any settler in the Village Settlement of Loanend (Block VIII., Invercargill Hundred) to hold such additional area as with his present holding shall make a total of not exceeding forty acres in extent:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, in pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby amend the Order in Council aforesaid so far as it affects the areas in which the land in the Loanend Village (Block VIII., Invercargill Hundred) shall be held, and doth declare that on and after the date hereof any settler in the village settlement aforesaid may apply for and acquire such additional land therein as with his present holding shall make a total of not exceeding forty acres in extent in the whole; and it is hereby further declared that all the provisions of the Order in Council of the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, aforesaid, shall apply, except as regards the area in which the sections may be held, to the Loanend Village Settlement aforesaid.

Eastern Mahurangi Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Land District of Auckland, and known as the Eastern Mahurangi Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 108 acres and 15 perches, more or less, and being called or known as Section No. 176 of the Parish of Mahurangi, Mahurangi Survey District, Auckland Land District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 128, 2325 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 8, 2307 links; towards the south generally by a road, 100 links wide, 295, 230, 771, 562, 653, 894, 520, 337, and 42 links respectively; towards the south-west by Section No. 118, 762 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 107, 3757 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons, for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such Order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881”:
