Section 9, Block V., is situated about a mile and a quarter from Ohakune Post-office—to which there is a dray-road from Pipiriki—and adjoins the Ohakune Township reserve. It also fronts on to the main trunk railway-line as at present surveyed. The section is all flat, is well watered, has a fair soil on a gravel and sandstone formation, and there is good milling timber on the land. An area of 12 acres has been grassed, and 3 acres felled only. There is a good pack-track to the section. Section 14, Block V., is situated on the main coach-road from Pipiriki to Karioi, Hunterville, and Taupo. The distance to Ohakune Post-office is about three miles. It is rather broken country, but there is sufficient flat land for a homestead. The section is well watered, and has a light soil on a sandstone formation. An area of 30 acres has been felled and partly grassed, the balance being covered with heavy timber, consisting of rimu, matai, &c.
