in or about or within a distance of 30ft. from any part of
any cowshed, dairy, milk-shop, or store. Nor shall it be
lawful for such person to construct or permit to remain
any foul drain or gully or other drain-trap in or about any
such cowshed, dairy, milk-shop, or store.
-
No milk-cart, milk-van, or other vehicle used for
or in connection with the transport, carrying, or distribution
of milk from or about dairy premises shall be used for the
purpose of carrying any manure, excrement, or filth, pigs'
wash, pigs' food, or other animal or decaying vegetable
matter; and in case any such cart shall be so used contrary
to these regulations, the owner of such dairy premises and
also the owner of such cart shall be guilty of an offence for
each occasion on which such cart shall be so used. -
No dairyman or milk-vendor shall purchase, supply for
sale to others, sell, or expose in or about any dairy premises,
milk-shop or store, for sale, or mix with milk produced for
sale on any dairy premises occupied by him, any milk pro-
duced at, in, upon, or about any dairy premises, cowshed, or
dairy which is not registered in accordance with these
regulations. -
The Inspector is hereby authorised and empowered to
enter at any time on any dairy premises for any of the pur-
poses of these regulations. Any person in any wise obstruct-
ing him, or preventing him from making any such entry,
shall be deemed guilty of an offence. -
Any notice or certificate required to be served upon
any dairyman or milk-vendor under these regulations shall
be deemed to be sufficiently served either by giving the same
to him personally or by leaving the same at his dairy pre-
mises with any person employed or resident there. -
The Inspector shall have full power to stop any
vehicle containing or supposed to contain milk and question
the driver thereof, and accompany or place his delegate in
charge of such vehicle, so as to satisfy himself of the desti-
ation of such milk and whence produced, and to take
samples thereof. -
Any person who shall do any act forbidden to be done
or declared not to be lawful, or shall omit to do any act
directed to be done, under or by any of the foregoing regula-
tions, or shall in any wise obstruct any Inspector, shall be
deemed guilty of an offence, and shall be liable for every
such offence to a penalty not exceeding £50, and in every
case where such offence shall be a continuing one, then to a
penalty not exceeding £50 for every day or part of a day
during which such offence shall continue. -
These regulations may be cited as "The Dairies In-
spection Regulations." -
All penalties recovered under these regulations shall
be paid to the Local Board.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or parti-
cular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown
lands which in his opinion are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale
the lands in the Land Districts of Auckland, Nelson, and
Canterbury described in the Schedule hereunder written,
for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end
of the description of the lands so intended to be temporarily
reserved.

AUCKLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Section No 85A of the Parish of Waitakerei, and con-
taining by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the north generally by a public road, 720, 500, 291,
and 184 links respectively; towards the south-east by Section
No. 84, 1325 links; towards the south-west by Section No.
85, 750 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For a quarry reserve.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 69 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 84A of the Parish of Mareretu. Bounded
towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 90A, 89, and N.W.
portion of 88, 3200 links; towards the south-east by
Sections Nos. N.E. 87, S.W. 87, N.E. 86, and M. 86,
2782·7 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 84,
2241·3 links; and towards the north-west by a public
road, 247·4, 340·5, 293·6, 164·7, 532·7, 417·6, 100, and
760 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
