NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-
RACE.

Otago Mining District,
26th January, 1897.
To the Warden at Lawrence.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a
water-race to divert and use water for mining purposes,
commencing at a point on the east bank of Bungtown
Creek between Section 9, Block IX., and Section 3, Block
VIII., Tuapeka East District, crossing Bungtown and Ger-
man Creeks by means of fluming or pipe-line, and termi-
nating at the foot of Waitahuna Gully at licensed holding
now under application by me.
The length of such race is twelve miles or thereabouts,
and its intended course is southerly.
Pegs marked X.
The mean depth of such race is 3ft., and the mean
breadth is 4ft.; and it is proposed to divert twenty Govern-
ment heads of water.
Cost of construction: Β£1,500.
Time required for construction: Twelve months.
Number and date of miner's right: No. 13584; 4th De-
cember, 1896.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-
RACE.

Westland District, 28th January, 1897.
To the Warden at Stafford.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a
water-race to divert and use water for mining pur-
poses, commencing at a point adjoining Head-race No. 440,
12 chains from commencement of said race, situated on
Pahika, adjoining Road Board road, and terminating at our
extended claim No. 72860, on Auckland Beach.
The length of such race is 60 chains or thereabouts, and
its intended course is S.E. and N.W. The greater portion
of this race is situated on the private land belonging to
John Maher.
Grant asked for fifteen years.
The mean depth of such race is 2ft., and the mean
breadth is 2ft.
No water-right, being on private land.
Cost of construction: Β£250.
Time required for construction: Twelve months.
Numbers and dates of miners' rights: No. 20953, 15th De-
cember, 1896; No. 16050, 15th December, 1896; No. 20954,
15th December, 1896.
