Vesting a Reserve in the Kaikoura County Council.


GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by the sixteenth section of "The
Reserves and Crown Lands Disposal and Enabling Act,
1896," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the
day of the date hereof the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are vested in "The Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the Kaikoura County," for an estate in fee-
simple in trust, for the improvement and protection of the
Waimanarara River.


SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the District of Kaikoura Subur-
ban, Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasure-
ment 228 acres 2 roods 15 perches, be the same a little
more or less, being Sections Nos. 2 of 29, 30, 31, and 32
in the said district. Bounded towards the north by part
of Section No. 295, in the said district; towards the west
by Section No. 1 of 29 in the said district; again towards
the north by a public road along the southern boundary of
said Section No. 1 of 29; again towards the west by a
public road to the south-west angle of Section No. 32 in the
said district; towards the south by a public road to the
Waimanarara River; and towards the east by that river to
the commencing-point; as the same is delineated on the
official map in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.

land, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago.


GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth sec-
tion of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or par-
ticular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes of the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the
Land Districts of Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Can-
terbury, and Otago described in the Schedule hereto, for
the purposes in the said Schedule specified in each case at
the end of the descriptions of the lands so intended to be
temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being
Section No. 2 of Block LX., Town of Rotorua, containing
by admeasurement 12 acres 1 rood 22 perches, more or less.
Bounded towards the north by Pukuatua Street, 339 links;
towards the north-east by the Auckland-Rotorua Railway,
1098, 1147, and 47 links; towards the south by the Town
Belt, 1470 links; and towards the south-west by a line and
by Section No. 1 of Block LX., Town of Rotorua, 1700 links,
to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Auckland. For a reserve
for railway purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Allotment No. 333 of the Town of Kihikihi, and con-
taining by admeasurement 3 roods 29 perches, more or
less. Bounded towards the north by Nixon Street, 50 links;
towards the east by Allotment No. 334 of the Town of Kihikihi, 400 links; towards the south by Herbert Street, 380
links; towards the west by Nixon Street, 43 links; and
towards the north-west by the same street, 485 links, to the
point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, Auckland. For a reserve
for public sale-yards.

HAWKE'S BAY.

All that parcel of land in the Hawke's Bay Land District,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being
Section No. 1, Block II., Clive Survey District, and being
an island surrounded by the backwater of the Ngaruroro
River, formerly the old bed of the Tukituki River: as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, Napier. For river-conservation purposes.

All that parcel of land in the Hawke's Bay Land District,
containing by admeasurement 7 acres 3 roods, more or less,
being Section No. 2, Block II., Clive Survey District, and
being an island opposite Muddy Creek, surrounded by the
backwater of the Ngaruroro River, formerly the old bed of
the Tukituki River: as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier. For
river-conservation purposes.

WELLINGTON.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District,
containing by admeasurement 8 acres and 16 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 135A, Block XIII., Mangahao
Survey District. Bounded towards the north and east gene-
rally by a public road; towards the south by a public road;
and towards the west by G.R. 184 and part of Section 137:
as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office
of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. As a resting-place for
travelling stock.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District,
containing by admeasurement 27 acres 1 rood 8 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 135, Block XIII., Mangahao
Survey District. Bounded towards the north by reserve
along Mangahao River; towards the east by reserve along
Mangahao River and a public road; towards the south by a
public road; and towards the west by reserve along Manga-
hao River: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For the
growth and preservation of timber.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods 39 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 8107 (in red), formerly part of
Reserve No. 2640, Block VIII., Grey Survey District.
Bounded towards the north by Lot 6 of Reserve No. 2640,
