*Powers delegated to the Uawa Domain Board under "The
Public Domains Act, 1881."

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of December, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881,"
His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated
the thirty-first day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-one, making delegation of certain powers in
manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice
and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with
respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the
Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act afore-
said, except the powers under or conferred by sections five
and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who
shall be known as the Uawa Public Domain Board,
namely,β€”

HENRY WILLIAMS,
ANDREW REEVES, and
GEORGE SPENCE

(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,β€”

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the third Wednesday in each month, at eight o'clock p.m.,
    at Tolago Bay, or at such other time or place as may from
    time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall
    be held on Wednesday, the nineteenth day of January, one
    thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. No meeting shall be held if any member of the Board
    be absent. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to
    time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first
    Saturday in February in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original vote. The Chairman
    shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Hawke's Bay Land District,
containing by admeasurement 25 acres and 32 perches,
more or less, being Block III., Township of Buckley.
Bounded towards the north by Foster Street; towards the
east by Discovery Street; towards the south by Banks
Street; and towards the west by Cook Street.

Vesting a Reserve in the Clifton County Council.

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of December, 1897.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was permanently set apart as a reserve for a pound
on the second day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expe-
dient to vest the said land in the Clifton County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth
section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby
declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the
reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested
in "The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the
Clifton County," in trust, as a reserve for a public pound.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 27 perches, more or
less, being Section No. 88, Tikorangi District, Waitara
Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a
road, 1069.9 links; towards the south-east by a road, 317.9
links; and towards the south-west by the Waihi Road,
1285.5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

South Canterbury Acclimatisation District defined.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The Animals Protection Act, 1880,"
I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those parts of
the said colony described in the Schedule hereto to be a
district under the said "Animals Protection Act, 1880," and
I do further appoint such district to be known as "The
South Canterbury Acclimatisation District."

SCHEDULE.

SOUTH CANTERBURY ACCLIMATISATION DISTRICT.

THE Counties of Geraldine and Levels, and that portion
of the County of Mackenzie lying to the east of a line com-
mencing at Mount Cook, and proceeding by a right line over
the Ball Hut to the Tasman Glacier, thence along the
western boundary of the Tasman Glacier to the Tasman
River, thence by a line along the middle of that river, and
the middle of Lake Pukaki, and the middle of Pukaki River,
to the Waitaki River; together with the Borough of
Timaru.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirteenth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Amending the Description of a Reserve in the Wellington
Land District.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-ninth sec-
tion of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that
where there has been any error of description made in any
notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears
a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve after
the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may cancel
any notification that may have been made in respect of such
reserve, and issue fresh notifications in respect thereof, with
amended particulars and description: And whereas an
error was made in the description of land in the Aohanga
Survey District, Wellington Land District, which was
wrongly described as Section 23, Blocks V. and X., Aohanga
Survey District, instead of Section 23, Blocks V. and IX.,
Aohanga Survey District, in the Proclamation of the thirtieth
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
five, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 73, of the
third day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-five, reserving the land as an endowment for primary
education, and it is expedient to cancel the said notification
in so far as it relates to the said section:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
revoke the Proclamation of the thirtieth day of September,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, in so far as it
relates to Section 23, Blocks V. and X., Aohanga Survey
District; and do declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto shall be the land reserved as an endowment
for primary education intended by the said notification.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District,
containing by admeasurement 726 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 23 of Blocks V. and IX., Aohanga Survey Dis-
trict.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirteenth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.
