ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1896.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Wellington Land District, and known as the Pohangina Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881"; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 34, Township of Pohangina. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 32; towards the south-east by Section 63; towards the south-west by a 50-link road; and towards the north-west by the Pohangina Road: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1896.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons, for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such Order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas, pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said "Public Domains Act, 1881":

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth by this present Order delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Pohangina Domain Board, namely,--

JOSEPH GEORGE BROWN,
WILLIAM BOLTON,
PETER CHARLES ELIS EDWARD RONBERG,
GEORGE HENRY ROBINSON, and
JAMES JOHNSTON

(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Friday in each month, at eight o'clock p.m., at the Pohangina Public Hall, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Friday, the fifth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days' notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first Friday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,

elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  1. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

  2. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  3. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1896.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twelfth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Waitaki North Domain Board, namely,--

DAVID RITCHIE,
WILLIAM JOSEPH WILLIAMS,
EDWARD BUTT,
ALFRED PELVIN, and
JOHN HENDERSON

(hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,--

  1. All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 57 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2915, formerly part of Reserve No. 642, situate in Block XIV., Waitaki Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Lots Nos. 101 and 102, subdivision of Reserve No. 642; towards the south-east by the road forming the south-west boundaries of Lots Nos. 105 and 106, subdivision of Reserve No. 642; towards the south-west by the road
