Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in Canterbury.
GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1896.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto was permanently reserved for Provincial Government purposes: And whereas the said reserve is for one of the purposes comprised in Class I. of the Schedule to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and in the opinion of the Governor it is expedient to change the purpose of a portion of such reserve:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby order and direct that the purpose of the portion of the reserve mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto shall be changed from the purpose specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to that specified in the third column of the Schedule hereto.

Vesting a Reserve in the Tauranga County Council.
GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1896.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was permanently set apart as a gravel reserve on the second day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Tauranga County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Tauranga County,” in trust, for a gravel reserve.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less, being Section No. 16, Block III., Te Tumu Survey District.
Bounded towards the north by Section No. 5, Block III., Te Tumu Survey District, 1847·7 links; towards the east by Section No. 10 of aforesaid Block III., 434 links; towards the south by Section No. 13 of aforesaid Block III., 1847·7 links; and towards the west by a road, 434 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Auckland

Powers delegated to the Patutahi Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, 1896.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the eighth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears, and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Patutahi Public Domain Board, namely,—

JAMES WOODBINE JOHNSON,
WILLIAM SMITH,
ANDREW TUOHY, and
THOMAS JEX BLAKE
(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Monday in each month, at noon, at the Stipendiary Magistrate’s office, Gisborne, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the first Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being Section No. 81, Block I., Turanganui Survey District, containing by admeasurement 61 acres and 22 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north by a road-line, 3030 links; towards the east by the Whenuakura Block, 1639 links; towards the south by Sections Nos. 32 and 33, 2737 links; and towards the west by Section No. 35, 2794 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
