ngaruru Bay :
And whereas by Order in Council made under "The
Sea-fisheries Act, 1894," on the eleventh day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 10, of the seventh day of
February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, a
close season for the same description of fish was made for
that portion of the colony described therein, extending from
Cape Wiwiki to the North Cape:
And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said close
seasons for mullet:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority conferred upon him by "The Sea-fisheries
Act, 1894," and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
revoke the said close seasons for mullet or kanae which were
prescribed by the said Orders in Council on the seventh day
of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three,
and the eleventh day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-four.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of December, 1896.
Present:
The Honourable R. J. Seddon presiding in Council.
WHEREAS by Order in Council bearing date the eighth
day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
thirteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety, regulations were made under the provisions of "The
Stamp Act, 1882," providing for the payment of certain
duties, fees, fines, and penalties by means of stamps: And
whereas it is expedient to amend such regulations in the
manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers con-
ferred by "The Stamp Act, 1882," and of all other powers
and authorities enabling him in this behalf, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby make the additional regula-
tion set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby notify
and declare that such additional regulation shall form part
of the said recited regulations of the eighth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and shall take effect
on and after the first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-seven.
SCHEDULE.
No. 2A. The stamps for the fees payable in any Magis-
trate's Court for mileage for service of any summons,
process, or notice, or execution of any warrant, shall be
affixed to the back of the Treasury voucher in favour of the
person entitled to be paid such mileage.

Township Village-homestead Settlement, Canterbury.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of December, 1896.
Present:
The Honourable R. J. Seddon presiding in Council.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the first
day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six, under the authority of section one hundred and
sixty-three of "The Land Act, 1885," fixing the terms and
conditions upon which village-settlement lands should be
disposed of, it was provided that no lessee would be allowed
to acquire more than one allotment:
And whereas the Orari Township Village-homestead
Settlement was, by a Proclamation of the twenty-first day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, set
apart for selection under the terms and conditions of the
aforesaid Order in Council:
And whereas it is expedient to allow one person to hold
more than one allotment, provided that the total area does
not exceed twenty acres, in the said Orari Township Village-
homestead Settlement:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pur-
suance of all powers and authorities enabling him in that
behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Exe-
cutive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby
amend the Order in Council aforesaid so far as it affects the
areas in which the land in the Orari Township Village-
homestead Settlement shall be held, and doth declare that
on and after the date hereof any settler in the Orari Town-
ship Village-homestead Settlement aforesaid may apply for
and acquire more than one allotment, provided that the total
area does not exceed twenty acres; and it is hereby further
declared that all the provisions of the Order in Council of
the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six, aforesaid, shall apply, except as regard the area
in which the sections may be held, to the Orari Township
Village-homestead Settlement aforesaid.

Vesting a Reserve in the Weber Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of December, 1896.
Present:
The Honourable R. J. Seddon presiding in Council.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was permanently reserved as a site for a mechanics'
institute on the twenty-first day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-seven:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expe-
dient that the said land should be vested in the Weber
Road Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth
section of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby
declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the
reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become
vested in "The Inhabitants of the Weber Road District,"
in trust, as a site for a mechanics' institute.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Hawke's Bay Land District,
containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being
Subdivision No. 1 of Section No. 40, Block V., Weber Survey
District. Bounded towards the north-east by a road, 100
links; towards the south-east by other portion of Section
No. 40, 514·8 links; towards the south-west by Sections
Nos. 54 and 53, 100 links; and towards the north-west by
Section No. 39, 514·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

In exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in him by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," His
Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council,
dated the eleventh day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-four, making delegation of certain
powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the
like advice and consent, by this present Order, delegate, but
only with respect to the pieces or parcels of land described
in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act
aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections
five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons,
who shall be known as the Devonport Public Domain
Board, namely,—
