"The Natiye Land Court Act, 1894," and "The Natiye Land Law. Ameudment Act, 1896. "
Natiye Land Court Office, Wellington, 17th December, 1896.
WHERFAS by section 26 of "The Natiye Land Law. Ameudment Act, 1896," the land described in the Scheclule
hereto was brought under the operation of subseciion 10 of section 14 of "The Natiye Land Court Act, 1894 ":
And wherens, by Order in Council clated the 16th day of December, 1896, the Natiye Land Court was authori.sed in respect
of the said land to exercise the juriadiction conferred on the Court by the said subseciion, that is to say, to determine
whetber or not the said land, or any part thereof, was, on the inveatigntion of title thereto, intended by the Natiye Land
Cnurt, or by the nomiual owner or owners of such land, to be held by such nomiual owner or owners in trust for Natives
not named in the title, and to determine who are the Natives (if any) entitiled beneficiaily to such land, and to order the
inclusion of such Natives in the title, either together with or in lieu of the nomiual owners or any of them, and for the purpose
aforesaid to order the cancellation or ameudment of any existing instrument of title, and the issue of such new Crnwn
grants or other iustruments of title as may be necessary, and generally to exercise in respect of the said land all the juri-
diction and powers conferred on the Natiye Land Court by subseciion 10 of section 14 of "The Natiye Land Court Act,
1894 ":
Now, therefore, notice is herehy given that, at the sitting of the Court to be held at Hokitika on the 14th day of
Jannary, 1897, the Court will, in respect of the said land, proceed to inquirc and determine as aforesaid, and make such
order thereupon as the Court, in the exercise of its juriadiction under subseciion 10, shall dem necessary or expcdient.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcc! of land, containing 1,050 acrcs, more or less, known as Section 1676 of Blccks VIII., IX., and XII., situate
in the Kanicri and Turiwhati Snrvey Districts, in the Proviucial District of Westland.
All that parcc! of land, containing 492 acrcs 2 rocds, more or less, known as Section 1152, situate in the Arabura
Sorvey District, in the Proviucial District of Westland.
