Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale
or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having re-
ceived the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as
in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the
rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for
sale or selection on and after the tenth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven ; and also that
the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option
of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for
occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity,
or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain
any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease
in perpetuity only ; and I do hereby also fix the prices at
which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that
the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Mangonui County.—Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situate in Block I., Herekino Survey District, and containing
approximately 440 acres. Bounded towards the north
generally by the Waitahi Native Reserve, 4048 and 2075
links ; towards the north-east by a right line bearing 142°
13' ; towards the south-east by unadjudicated Native land ;
and towards the south-west by a road, 100 links wide, running
along the sea-coast to the point of commencement : be all
the aforesaid measurements more or less.

Description of land : Broken, poor land, covered with
stunted fern and tea-tree ; situated on the coast, about
seven miles from Herekino and eight miles from Ahipara.

Cash price, 10s. per acre ; occupation with right of pur-
chase, rent, 6d. per acre per annum ; lease in perpetuity,
rent, 4·8d. per acre per annum.

East Taupo County.—Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situate in Block XIV., Tatu Survey District, and containing
approximately 2,475 acres, more or less. Bounded towards
the east by the western boundary of Block XV., Tatu
Survey District ; towards the south by the northern boundary
of Block II., Tauhara Survey District ; towards the south-
west by the Patuiwi Native Reserve ; and towards the north-
west generally by a road, 100 links wide, running along the
bank of the Waikato River, to the point of commencement :
save and except from the area hereinbefore described Section
No. 1 of Block XIV., Tatu Survey District.

Description of land : Open land of poor quality, fronting
the Waikato River at the Huka Falls ; situate from two to
four miles from Taupo Township.

Cash price, 7s. 6d. per acre ; occupation with right of
purchase, rent, 4·5d. per acre per annum ; lease in per-
petuity, rent, 3·6d. per acre per annum.

this twenty-third day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-six.

tion on Lease in Perpetuity.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Land for Settlements Act,
1894," and the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of "The
Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said one hun-
dred and thirty-sixth section is provided, do hereby declare
that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall
be open for selection on and after the tenth day of Feb-
ruary, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven ; and
that the said lands may be selected on lease in perpetuity,
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892" ; and I do
hereby declare that the rentals at which the said lands shall
be leased shall be those mentioned in the said Schedule
hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.
