Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke and
annul the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouse
for the reception and security of goods entered to be ware-
housed without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof,
namely,—

Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force
upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me
under "The Public Works Act, 1894," and any amend-
ment thereof, and also of "The Government Railways Act,
1894," I, William Campbell Walker, acting for the Minister
for Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in
the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New
Zealand Government Railways open for traffic, such altera-
tions to come into force on and after the 1st day of De-
cember, 1896:—
PART I.—PASSENGERS: LOCAL FARES AND
REGULATIONS.
AUCKLAND SECTION.
Hot Lakes.
Return excursion tickets, available for three months from
date of issue, will be issued from Auckland, Newmarket,
Remuera, Ellerslie, Penrose, Onehunga, and Otahuhu, to
Rotorua.
Fares: 45s. first class, 30s. second class.
Te Aroha Hot Springs.
Return excursion tickets, available for two months from
date of issue, will be issued from Auckland, Newmarket,
Remuera, Ellerslie, Penrose, Onehunga, and Otahuhu, to
Te Aroha or Paeroa; and from Te Aroha and Paeroa to
Auckland, Newmarket, or Onehunga.
Fares: 30s. first class, 20s. second class.
Round-trip tickets, available for two months from date of
issue, will be issued from Auckland to Te Aroha or Paeroa
by rail, Te Aroha or Paeroa to Thames by coach, Thames to
Auckland by steamer (or vice versâ).
Fares: 34s. first class, 28s. second class.
Okoroire Hot Springs.
Return excursion tickets, available for two months from
date of issue, will be issued from Auckland, Newmarket,
Remuera, Ellerslie, Penrose, Onehunga, and Otahuhu, to
Okoroire.
Fares: 35s. first class, 22s. 6d. second class.
Holders of above excursion tickets to Rotorua, Te Aroha,
Paeroa, Okoroire, Auckland, Newmarket, and Onehunga
may break the journey at any station at which the train
is timed to stop after travelling ten miles from the original
starting-station, provided the specified time for which the
tickets are available is not exceeded.
PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.
KAIHU SECTION.
Timber consigned to Dargaville for shipment will be
charged as follows per 100 superficial feet:—

and intermediate stations, to Spit, will be charged 6s. per
bale.
HURUNUI-BLUFF SECTION.
Dunedin and Port Chalmers to Balclutha.
Native crude petroleum, consigned from Dunedin or Port
Chalmers to Balclutha, will be charged Class D; minimum
quantity, 2 tons.

Bonus for Production of Mineral Manure.—Notice No. 445.
Department of Agriculture,
Wellington, 25th July, 1896.
A BONUS of £200 is hereby offered for the discovery and
working within the colony of a deposit or deposits of
marketable mineral manure.
The following are the conditions under which the bonus
is offered and will be paid:—
- That the raw material be easily accessible, and within
reasonable distance of a road or railway. - That the person appointed by the Minister for Agricul-
ture to examine the deposit is satisfied that there is sufficient
to meet all ordinary demands for five years. - That at least 200 tons of such manure have been dis-
posed of at a price which will allow of its being remunera-
tively used for agricultural purposes, and that a further
supply can be placed on the market at the same price. - That, if the deposit be mineral coprolites, it shall con-
tain by analysis at least 20 per cent. of phosphoric acid. - That, if the deposit be mineral apatites, it shall contain
by analysis at least 25 per cent. of phosphoric acid.
Applications addressed to "The Hon. the Minister for
Agriculture, Wellington," will be received up to and includ-
ing the 1st day of August, 1897.
