Subdivision No. 3.

Commencing at a point on the Taruheru River, in Pou-o-Turanga Block, where the public road forming the southern boundary of Whataupoko strikes it, and bounded on the north by the said public road and Whataupoko No. 1 Block to the west corner of Section 5, Whataupoko 1; thence on the north-east by Section 5, a public road, Sections 10A, 11A, and 11 of aforesaid block; thence on the south-east by Section 12 and Subdivision 1 of said section of Whataupoko No. 7, and by Sections 39, 38, 35, 34 of Whataupoko No. 3 or Te Hapera, and by a public road, to the Taruheru River; and thence on the south and west by that river to the point of commencement.

POVERTY BAY ROAD DISTRICT.—AMENDED BOUNDARIES.

Commencing at the mouth of the Waipaoa River; thence by the centre of that river to the Waerengaahika Lagoon; thence by the western and northern banks of that lagoon to the northern boundary of Section 83, Block I., Muhunga; thence by that boundary and a public road, being the northern boundary of the School Estate, to the Taruheru River; thence by the centre of that river to the centre of a public road, being the southern boundary of the School Estate; thence by the centre of that road to the centre of the Ormond Road; thence by that road to the southern corner of Section 34B, Makauri; thence by the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that section to a public road; thence by that road to a stream forming the western boundary of 34A; thence by that stream to the northern boundary of Matawhero No. 3 Block; thence by the northern boundary of Matawhero No. 3 to the Taruheru River; thence by that river to the eastern boundary of Makaraka Cemetery Reserve; thence by the eastern boundary of that reserve to the centre of the Ormond Road; thence by the centre of that road to the eastern boundary of Subdivision B of Matawhero B or 5; thence by that boundary to the northern boundary of Matawhero No. 7; thence by that boundary, and the eastern boundary of Matawhero Nos. 7, 5, and 1A, to Waikanae Lagoon; thence by that lagoon to a public road; thence by that road to the western boundary of Awapuni 1H; thence by that boundary to the sea; and thence by the sea to the point of commencement.

WHATAUPOKO ROAD DISTRICT.—AMENDED BOUNDARIES.

Commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 39 of Whataupoko No. 7. Bounded on the north-east by Whataupoko Block No. 7 to the Waimata River; thence by that river to the boundary of the Borough of Gisborne; thence by that boundary to the intersection of the western side of Lytton Road; thence to the north-west corner of Subdivision No. 34 of Whataupoko No. 3, called Hapera; thence along the western and northern boundaries of Sections 34, 35, 38, and 39 of Whataupoko No. 7 to the point of commencement.

MOA ROAD BOARD.

Result of poll of ratepayers of the Norfolk Road East Special Rating District, taken on the 21st October, 1896, upon the following proposal: (1) To form and metal a portion of the Norfolk Road East from Section 56, Moa, eastwards; (2) to borrow for such purpose the sum of £300 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886”; (3) to strike as security for such loan a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound; (4) to constitute the Norfolk Road East “Special Rating District,” to comprise the following lands—viz., Sections 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64 (in two subdivisions), 65, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76 (in two subdivisions), 77, Moa:—
Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 14; total number of votes exercisable, 15: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 9; number of votes recorded against the proposal, nil; number of votes not recorded, 6.
I hereby declare the proposal carried.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Manukau Water-supply District.

Wellington, 10th November, 1896.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under Part II. of “The Water-supply Act, 1891,” to appoint

WILLIAM HOGG, of Newmarket,

to be Returning Officer for the first election of six members of the Manukau Water-supply District, as constituted under the said Act, and to prepare the rolls for the said election.

Also to appoint Thursday, the 24th day of December next, to be the day, and the Epsom Hall and Mr. Olesen’s store, Epsom, to be the polling-places, for such election.

Also to appoint Thursday, the 7th day of January next, at 8 o’clock p.m., to be the time, and the Epsom Hall, Epsom, to be the place, for holding the first meeting of the members of the Manukau Water-supply Board.

Appointment of a Magazine for the Storage of Explosives.

I, RICHARD JOHN SEDDON, Commissioner of Trade and Customs, in exercise of the power in me for this purpose vested by “The Explosives Act, 1882,” do hereby appoint the magazine situated on Block 13, Reefton Survey District, Nelson Land District, and occupied by Messrs. Forsyth and Masters, iron and hardware merchants, Reefton, to be a magazine for the storage and keeping of explosives, subject to the regulations in force at the date hereof.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this seventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Notice of Intention to incorporate the Reefton Ladies Benevolent Society as a Separate Institution.

Charitable Department,
Wellington, 10th November, 1896.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Council directs it to be notified, in terms of section 43 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” that he has received a petition from not less than fifty subscribers to the Reefton Ladies Benevolent Society praying that the said society may be incorporated as a separate institution; and that if no counter-petition, signed by an equal or greater number of subscribers, shall have been delivered at the office of the Colonial Secretary within one month after the publication of this notice, or if the District Board shall not have lodged with the Colonial Secretary within the same time an objection to such petition, the Governor in Council will declare the said society to be a separate institution under the said Act.
